HI im new here..

i brought me a 60gb ps3 on Nov 17 and started thinking about installing linux on the PS3... so i found this site... after reading up on how to install.

I got to the part about formating the hard drive..

when i went to system=>format

all i saw .....
was Allot 10gb to the Other OS
was Allot 10gb to the PS3 system

i have a 60 gig hard drive.. is this correct ?????

or where is the rest of the hard drive space????

I think thats just the max you can allot to the options

im not sure.. but from my point its must be a 20 gig..
but where is the other drive space if its a 60gig???

i would like to know that

Can you use the Allot options more than once?

ie

Allot 10GB to the Other OS and then repeat it twice and so you have used a total of 30GB?

I'm thinking maybe it just means you can only assign 10GB at a time.

i tries and it did the same thing just format the drive nothing else

they did that to prevent problems with the 20gb models so that they would have enough space.it does it for me too on my 60gb hdd and my 160gb hdd

No.
You can either Allot 10GB to Other OS (Rest will be alloted to GAME OS), or
you can allot 10GB to GAME OS (Rest will be alloted to Other OS).

So it's gonna be 50/10 either way.
