I am currently downloading the new Yellow Dog for the ps3 but should i use this or should i use linux???? I know yellow dog was specifically made for the ps3 so that would probably be more user friendly. But if i install this and decide i want to go back to linux would i have to reformat my ENTIRE HD again?

Yellow Dog IS linux but i think you may be talking about the Sony OS that comes shiped with your ps3

and no if you partition your HDD you can have both
