They're basically the same since they both use Fedora Core 5. The main difference is the desktop GUIs and YDL having official Sony support.

As far as I know, there is very little difference between the two. But I guess YDL was sony's choice for linux, so I guess that would make it a little better. I would like to see a distro using KDE (Knoppix, maybe Kubuntu) to be made compatible for the PS3.

YDL. It will get updates in the future, and there's a team specially for it, unlike Fedora Core. Besides, Enlightenment > all

I liked YDL + enlightenment better. As even though it is pretty much based on Fedora core 5, it has been tweaked nicely for the PS3, stuff like permissions on devices are setup properly out of the box (ie X working properly without logging on as root).
I still get a lot more memory free running Fedora Core 5 + XFCE though.
And as cyanide said, it will be officially supported so more updates in the future without doing it manually.

I have Fedora 5 running, but I'll probably switch to YDL soon.

yellow dog is a distro based off fedora core and is designed for mac-like computers (powerpc). the version for ps3 is optimized and desgined to take advantage of the ps3's unique hardware.

I doesn't really matter to me, I just used fedora cause there was a really simple installation guide.
