is there some place that has detailed instructions for people who are new to linux. specifically i need instructions for setting up an internet connection, and change my resolution. on the resolution problem, i know where it is to change it, but it wont let me. its just one option and every thing is oversized.

google search and use the linux distros forums. forums are the best guides available.
