When I originally read this thread about a month ago, i had properly installed Fedora on my PS3:
I just returned to messing with it and realized that when in Fedora Core 5, I can't seem to run any multimedia. Whether its .mp3, .avi, .mpg or any other popular formats. All of the multimedia players say the required plugins aren't installed(and Helix asked me to use real media player...). This kind of threw me off, so I searched the web for help. I tried some yum commands they told me to try, but my PS3 isn't hooked up to high speed(i only have dial up at home) and it kept telling me that a proper mirror could not be found. All instructions I have read make it sound like during installation, the files required for multimedia playback were added, but not activated.
What can Fedora Core 5 really do for me multimedia wise? Where can I find the files to make my multimedia work(like music, video files and DVD movies?)? Is it even possible without a high speed connection? Or can Fedora actually handle multimedia on the PS3? Help anyone, I'm so lost... I saw something about .rpm files being related to installation packages, is there a set I should download and a command to run them?
