i was wondering can anybody help me to get torrent working for my linux box on the ps3. I got ydl5.0 and have been trying to install azureus. I installed azureus 2.4.0.2_linux-ppc.tar.gz but something is wrong with it after i got it to work. I cant see the torrent downloading and when i click view torrent nothing shows up.Also when i click options nothing pops up at all. Also when a big box pops up on the bot right side of the screen I click hide and it just stays there. Can anybody help me get azureus to work. maybe i need to upgrade java or i am doing something wrong. anybody got torrent working on ydl5.0? thanks

This is the torrent I've been using since Thursday:

but it's slower than molasses and everyone who has more than 50% of the torrent doesn't seem to want to share.

By the way, all I have right now is.. 24.4% of the file. If you compare that with Bordeaux and Zod, I got both of those in 5-6 hours.

Torrents aren't illegal. Torrents are 100% legal. Posting torrents that don't have copyrighted content aren't illegal nor against the rules.

I assosiate torrents with illiegal downloads so i'm not used to legal ones

Strictly speaking, an open source license *is* a copyright. Just, software with open source licenses can be legally traded.

That includes things like Linux isos and packages.

I can't speak for others, but I have a lot more success getting working DVD isos using a torrent client than I do downloading the whole 4 gigs in a single session. I suspect it's the hashing of the pieces of the download that makes for a better transaction.

Further, on the Zod download, I was often getting the full bandwith of my cable connection, whereas a single download from one site, I tend to get 30-60% of my total bandwidth.

to install bittorent on ps3
First : install python 2.5
Second : install Bittorrent 4.0.3

The problem i have is i can't get python 2.5 on yld 5.0

i downloaded an ppc version of azureus 2.4.0.2 from sourceforge azureus and i download ibm sdk 1.5 (32bit/iseries) version of java. I finally got it to work and now currently downloading and seeding torrents. edit the ./azureus file after u unpack it. where it says JAVA_PROGRAM_DIR="(locati on java 1.5)"
which is usually /opt/ibm/ibm-java2-xxx/jre/bin
wherever u install it jre/bin of that folder has to be the end.
PROGRAM_DIR="directory u installed azureus in"
this will prevent azureus to go find the 1.4.2 java on your system default.
java 1.5 is the same thing as ibm sdk 5.0
