I am trying to burn YDL onto a blank DVD and I am having a few problems doing it:
1. I am not sure what type of dvd to use (DVD-RW,DVD+RW,DVD-R,DVD+R, ect.) I tried using a DVD-RW and some kind of error ocurred. 2. I also need to know what program to use when I burn the iso file. I already tried DVD Decrypter, and I wasn't sucessful. 3. I am not sure what speed to burn in at. (1x, 2x, 4x, 6x, ect.) -= Double Post =- ~bump Last edited by ~PSPIMPIN~; 01-21-2007 at 07:14 AM.. What media you use depends on your burner. Some burners can only handle DVD+R, some can only handle DVD-R, others can handle both.
In general, you -dont- want to use read/write media (DVD-RW, DVD+RW) unless you're creating something on the DVD itself. For isos, it's DVD-R, or DVD+R. If your burner handles both, then price shop and get what suits you best (cheapest, best brand, most reliable, etc). Most of the "formulas" for installing Fedora, YDL, etc, suggest that you limit your burn speed to 2x-8x. I burned DVDs at 6x to be safe, even though the drive and media could handle 16. I burned the Add on CDs at 8x or so. -- software -- I used the Roxio "Easy Media Creator" suite. But I've also used the Nero application that comes with many drives successfully as well. David. |
