Every time I get to the kboot: part on the YDL installation, I type in installtext, and it goes on to say:

kboot: g ...
kboot: g ...
kboot: g ...
kboot: g ...
kboot: g ...

and it just keeps doing that.

Can someone help me please?

im sorry cyanide, but ive looke through the forums and threads and haven't found a solution. i have found people with the same problem, but no solution

Reset your PS3's settings, format your whole HDD (after backing up everything) and start again from scratch.

Dude I too was having this same problem. I even had two DVD's of YDL burned with different software, but in the end I went down to my dads computer and used roxio burning software and everything worked great. so try and grab ahold of roxio, or similar programs until it works.

some of the programs i use dont even recognize the dvd itself

im not sure what type of blank dvd to use (DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R, ect.)

i also dont know what disc drive to put it into, since its a dvd, it would make sense to put it in the D drive (top), but im not sure if the D drive lets you burn anything

You can burn it fine with DVD Decrypter at 8x. I have also used Verbatim DVD+R as well as -R, they both work fine.
