Default Unable to retrieve software information error help please

Unable to retrieve software information. This could be caused by not having a network connection available.

is the error i get but my internet connection is working fine on this when i try to install RPM's this error comes up all the time...

it has something to do with this yum i belive but i have no clue how to fix it

I found with the 3 files in the /etc/yum.repos.d directory that the base URL's are commented out so that the scripts don't see the URL's.

To fix this go to that directory and you'll have 3 files named yellowdog-xxx.repo. Open each one in text editor (must be root to make changes) and see if any lines of code are commented out (they have a # before them). Get rid of any # you see and save the files and try again.

This solution is particularly for the error: No valid baseurl
But it might be worth a shot.

can you do me a huge favor and post the contents of all three of those files for me because i modified the files and i didnt back them up =(
