I had a similar problem.
Go into the KDE sound setup, and disable the KDE sound system. Next go into mplayer's audio config. Go to Preferences -> Audio, select SD Lib Audio Output as driver and click Configure Driver -> set driver to alsa and set mixer and mixer channel to default. Sound is great in mplayer and from freevo playing mp3's but amarok and kaffeine both still sound like crap. |

Well, I got sound working in other programs, turned the KDE Sound system back on, using OSS. Now amaroK works when set to auto-detect, but I still have to have mplayer set as I instructed in the earlier post.

I was able to play videos after I changed the video output to 'x11' as opposed to 'xv' in the preferences. Problem is, the video does not stretch when I set it to fullscreen. If anyone else has any insight, feel free to reply... Thanks. |
