Is it possible to install FC5 on the PS3 using the 5 cd downloads?

No. You have to use the DVD version if you're using the original installer.

is there any possible way to do it if you dont use the original installer (im not really sure what you mean by the original installer)

Original installer = the otheros.bld released for it.

You can probably install FC5 through Gentoo like how Ubuntu has to be installed, but way too much work. You're better off with the DVD version. Is it because you don't have a DVD burner?
