gentoo problem

Default gentoo problem

i just finished installing gentoo, but i never set my password, and its asking me for the root password.

does anyone know if there is a default password

Its randomly created by the livecd. Just shut down the ps3 put the livecd in it. Boot it up, at the livecd prompt type passwd. Then put what you want. Type reboot and take out the disk. Should be good to go.

its not letting me get to the livecd prompt

You should have followed the instructions then..Bummer.

Go do this first at the livecd prompt:

swapon /dev/sda2
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/gentoo/
mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc
mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev
chroot /mnt/gentoo/ /bin/bash
env-update && source /etc/profile
passwd
exit
cd /mnt
umount gentoo/proc/ gentoo/dev/ gentoo/
reboot
And please follow the instructions ffs!
