Ok, so since I cannot do much about my resolution, is there a way I can configure the sound in Gentoo? I hear no sound when booting in Genom but I heard sound (very static) when booting in KDE. Do I need to install a correct driver for sound? Thanks.

Search this forum. This has been answered...

You probably only need to add yourself to the sound group.

Log in as root, and type 'gpasswd -a user_name sound' in a console. Not sure of the command but you can check the gpasswd manual by typing 'man gpasswd'.
