I bought blank DVD's but whenever I try to burn YDL 5.0 for PS3 on, it says "no media in the drive". My DVD is in drive E and I specified it that way but it always says that when I go to burn it on. Must I extract the files with winrar? its a memorex DVD'R

Are you actually burning it with an ISO burner, or are you just dragging and dropping the file onto the CD?

burning it, but the burner won't work is what I'm saying. I go to burn something and I get that error

Maybe my blank DVD isn't the right kind. I have a memorex DVD-R

I get the error /init: /etc/kboot.conf: 9: syntax error: unterminated quoted string. I was editing the last file of the kboot.conf to change the display settings to 1080i because that is what my tv supports but when I was typing :exit I forgot the : and I edited something else I thought I deleted what I had typed but maybe not or deleted too much, can someone give me a step by step guide to fixing this problem please.

Well it sounds like your DVD burner is malfunctioning. I don't think anyone here can actually help you much with burning the DVD.

well It probably is just because I am a little noobish when it comes to this kind of thing. Can someone please make a noob friendly guide to write the ISO onto a blank DVD and even starting by loading the disc in? I would very much appreciate this.

I'm glad you were able to sort it out. Hopefully you will find a place to burn the DVD so you can enjoy linux in your PS3. If you got any more questions or some problems with the installation (once you get a DVD) P.M. me or make a new thread, but always remember that search engines are here to help you not just to make a website look pretty.

1. This thread isn't about fedora
2. To get back into the XMB just press the power button on your ps3 for about 10 seconds(or 7 seconds)

Hey,

Just double-checking that this guide works for YDL 6.

Also, are you able to use a wifi connection in the OS? I'm sure I read somewhere that there were problems with using a wifi connection....
