Wow,the uncharted demo is butter!
I have to get this one.
AI is great, controls are very nice responsive. I'm really enjoying this!
Gave me chill bumps when the pirates up the aggression and start coming in after your a$$!
Just got through Uncharted. It's so ****in' awesome!!!!!!
Im so jealous!Zitat:

I cant play it Number 1 because no internet...
Number2 REGION LOCK!
Yeah, I feel sorry for the guys in other territories. They're really missing out. But I'm sure SCEE and SCEJ will fix it so everyone can get a crack at it. There should be no reason not to. The game will be the most wanted PS3 game this holiday season for sure (aside from CoD4).Zitat:

Here we go. Uncharted demo coming to European PSN on the 22nd.
Source:
I've been downloading it for two hours, and it's barely at 46%...
The demo has just been updated, it should now work with all regions.

They didn't have to fix it either.
Everybody forgot about College Hoops because of Uncharted. :p I have yet to play it. I'm installing it now.
The controls are needlessly complex... After playing Gears for so long, I'm pretty spoiled, but this is just absurd.
Fun but to short for 1.2 Gigs, at least give us a full level.
I don't know, Uncharted is awesome but It's leaning towards a rent rather than a buy.
Yeah, they're just two different player aspects (had a bit of the same issue over here). But you can get used to it, though. After that it's just a blast to play.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
What? It doesn't seem too complex to me.
Nor me, doesn't seem complex at all... Especially since I have no buttons to press!! *Scowl* Damn region lock...
Didn't somebody say that they removed the region lock? Or was it sarcasm...
After playing games like Gears, where everything is context sensitive, it really does feel needless complex. Not unplayable, but it didn't have to be this way.Zitat:
Zitat von xploren
If you press O to go against a wall, depending on where you are against a wall, O should perform all the other actions... Pressing up and X just to jump over? Why? Why not up and O? Keep O as the universal cover button.
I'm sure it'll be easy to get used to after playing for a while, but I wouldn't know yet, seeing as how the demo lasts about 5 minutes. 1.2 Gigs, and 3 hours of downloading for this?
This is where Blu-Ray has become a problem. Developers have now become sloppy with compression, and demo's are now over a GB, and often are never longer than 5-10 minutes...
I'll rent this game, but the Demo was a severe disappointment for me.
Yes, you have a point there. I agree with you on both the controls and compression. I had a bit of trouble doing things, when I had to do this and that differently. Press against a wall, Circle. Kick a door, Triangle.
Didn't you hear yet?? They reuploaded it and you can download it from the NA store, it works now.Zitat:
Zitat von FranzH
This game is so easy to control, no idea how people find it hard. If anything, I could use a few more function if you ask me.
Once you learn it, there's really nothing to be confused about. Once you go into cover, if you press circle you get out of cover, is it really that complex to press X instead of O?Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
You're assuming that it took 3 hours for everybody to download? It took me 30 - 40 minutes, if that.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Wow, I wouldn't call it sloppy at all, do you realize how many languages are in the demo? Notice how there was NO load times?Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Is it because you can't aim, then go back into cover then pop out and have the aiming sight in the same place. I prefer it this way, makes it feel more realistic.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
The only thing that bothered me about the game was the slight tearing, no worse than Bioshock and I think I can live with it. It's definitely a day one for me, awesome controls and the story look so good.
It's not hard, it's complex... It's not as streamlined as it should be. The actions are all over the place.Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
Open the door with Triangle, press Circle to take cover, and press up and X to jump over it... Why? It shouldn't take that many actions... Played Gears? Press A to open a door, press A to take cover, and press up and A to jump over... Simple... Why can't Uncharted do this?
Like I said, the controls aren't broken, or unplayable, they're just complex in a way that they don't need to be.
Isn't it because it's not on a Blu-ray disc...?Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
It's not Gears, they probably didn't want to make it a one button does everything type game. One play through I had it dialed in almost perfectly, makes you think.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
One of the best platformers I have played so far, animations are so slick and fluid, amazes me.
He is saying since he played Geras so much he is use to the simple button presses as compared to this game it seems much harder.Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
Same for me.
Plus Uncharted seems like its going to be a renter than a buyer.
Heh, no it is defintely not gears... But Gears did set the bar for intuitive controls for a shooter, and this game falls embarrassingly short of that bar.Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
The game looks great, the animations are great, but the Controls are retarded... Period...
Agreed. They feel uncomfortable.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Hot damn, because you have to press O instead of X and Triangle instead of X the controls are retarded? They didn't do it this way because there is a jump button, you know, for platforming. Maybe a jump button wasn't needed for Gears gameplay but it wasn't a platformer either.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Nope.Zitat:
Zitat von xploren
YESSS, you're finally getting it... it only took four posts, but you finally actually read what I said.Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
The controls weren't hard at all once I played a few minutes of it :)
I guess you're just used to playing games with the deformed controller ¬_¬
I've been reading, just hard to fathom you having a hard time with pressing different buttons. It's so easy, complex is the last word I would use to describe it.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Like I said just earlier. They didn't do it this way because there is a jump button, you know, for platforming. Maybe a jump button wasn't needed for Gears gameplay but it wasn't a platformer either.
I get it though, you don't like the controls, it's just a shame for a gamer to expect every game to control like his fav game.
IT'S NOT HARD YOU F*CKING MORONS... I never said it was hard, I said they were NEEDLESSLY COMPLEX. Get that?
F*ck, you people are stupid.

Is it too much to ask for a game to reach the bar of a game that's a year old? I don't just prefer Gears controls, they are better, and it is utterly inexcusable for Uncharted's controls to be like this...Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
Chill...
Slow it down, how would they have done it in gears if there was a jump button? They pretty much needed to use X as it is the universal jump button for PS3 games.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
This isn't a shooter to the extent that Gears was, it's more of a platformer. Which NEEDS a jump button.
I still don't see how instead of one button, you have to press another button is too complex. It's easy, plain and simple. This is a platformer DFS, Gears was not.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Maybe thats because you havent played Geras for such a long time.Zitat:
Zitat von Skyline34
No, no your use to playing with deformed controllers.
-= Double Post =-
Gears doesnt need a jump button since you lean on a wall and can 'leap'(Maybe not the best word to describe it) over it.Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
DFS is just saying after playing Gears so long he is use to those kind of controls and any other kind would be difficult.
You cannot gasp that I guess.
Right, because Gears isn't a platformer, Uncharted is.Zitat:
Zitat von Anti-QuickJay
I grasp it, he used to gears and wants every other game similar too it to control exactly like it.Zitat:
Zitat von Anti-QuickJay
Pressing 2 buttons is complex when your use to a single button press.
Play Gears of War for about a year, then play a game where a two button combo is needed to do something and report back son.
I definetly wasn't being sarcastic.Zitat:
Zitat von xploren
I've played Gears, maybe not for a year but I can easily grasp a new game with new controls within ten minutes.Zitat:
Zitat von Anti-QuickJay
I think you meant to say soon, son ;)
This one, I did miss. You don't have to press up and X, just X. You can press either O to get out of cover or move the analog stick away from the cover to get out of cover. Again, YOU ONLY NEED TO PRESS X TO JUMP OVER THE COVER. Not up and X.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
That would've been retarded and I see where you're argument would've come from now BUT you don't need to press up. How did you figure you did?
I still want this game, the platforming is very good, and the game looks smexy... I mean, hey, I've been singing this game's praises for a long time. I think I can get over it's short comings with the controls.
-= Double Post =-
The part where it says how to do the "Brutal Combo", there is a fallen pillar, and a guy... if you go against that pillar, and prompt comes up that says "Press up on the analog stick, and press X to jump over the cover" or something like that... Atleast that's what I thought it said, maybe I misread it.Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
My apologies, after testing again, you do have to move the analog stick in the direction you want to jump and then press X. I had hints turned off and pretty much just learned it as I went.Zitat:
Zitat von DFS
Anybody try and just get part of his leg wet, or up to his waist yet? Then just do a combat roll and get him soaked, can't wait to see more of the little things.
That's exactly what I did... I got in knee deep, and was like "Whoa"...Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
Definitely impressive.
Then I'm happy. :)Zitat:
