Default Lua Flasher

*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#* #*#*#*#
# Lua Flasher #
# By splodger15 #
*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#* #*#*#*#

USE THIS PROGRAM WITH CAUTION. AS WITH ANYTHING THAT FLASHES THERE IS ALWAYS A CHANCE OF BRICKING.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ONLY BE USED ON CUSTOM FIRMWARES TO PREVENT BRICKING.

Here is what has been done in my first version of Lua Flasher
The ability to change to flash these files

Flash Backgrounds (01-12.bmp)
Top Menu Plugin (Icons)
Opening Plugin (Startup sound)
Gameboot.PMF (Movie played when a game is started)
System_Plugin_bg (Background Waves)

When the program is run it will create a backup of these files to the root of your memory stick mso://
I have also implemented that if your battery is under 75% the program will not carry on it will return back to XMB.

While in the menu if you wish to exit just press Start

To use this place your file you want flashed in the root of your memory stick. Then scroll to what you want to flash EGpening plugin then select it.

I have also left the code open for those of you that wish to see it.

Like i said before USE THIS WITH CAUTION ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN TESTED THERE IS ALWAYS A CHANCE OF BRICKING.

I will add more features to this in later releases.

Enjoy

I would have uploaded but it was to big

Who in the right mind would trust their PSPs Flash memory to a LUA app? no offense to you or your programming but most people don't like LUA Programs that flash.

Its funny...
Everyone is hating on Lua Flashers, yet they are the ones you can judge foryourself wheter or not they're trustworthy. A C app, you have to trsut the author, where as in Lua, you can open up the script and see for yourself whether or not the code is trsutworthy... idiots...

Anyways, good work. A flasher is better than a button tester, so good on you.

Its not that we dont trust the author, its more of a if-the-person-uses-lua-hes-probably-a-noob. I dont trust noob's with my PSP, especially onces that cant write a complete sentence.

And honestly, all these flashers, its really getting annoying. It seems that this forum is flooded with flashers these days.

Not EVERYONE can tell if its good or a bad flasher, Most people who use homebrew dont know how to read LUA scripts, Or they just dont care and put too much trust into the community.

Actually, I lost track with how many flashers there are now...

Good work, it's just that so many flashers have been released, nobody really knows what to do with them

Download the file. Oh my god. He has like 8 files...5 of which just print text to the screen. The sadest part? He has a file, background.png, solid black.

As for his code not being the most efficient, who cares! If you go around looking at everyones code for inefficiencies, you need to find yourself a girl mate.

I disagree A button tester isnt dangerous.

The simple fact that its in LUA scares me :\

Usually, people that use PSP-Lua are noobs. And then the fact that they are toying with flash is worse. Its as simple as that.

True, Lua is seen as a 'noob-friendly' language, and it is, resulting in the large number of 'noobs'. But, there are those few that break this mold...

ok that was scary i put my rco in the root directory as the readme said then modified script(to bypass your stupid batter at 75% thing) and clicked on the topmenu plugin it then gave me an error and said press start to restart so i exitted out of program and it apparently did change my top menu rco although it isn't that great you can only carry 1 topmenu and it creates a full set of backups i think i'll stick with the generic flasher

Yep. This "scene" or "community" is gone "crazy" with a "noob-friendly language". Good job SG57 for starting lua flashing (sarcasm or not......? even i don't know).

Actually, the file is deleted as the transfer starts. Also, a more realistic (happened to me) situation with the USB is when I ran out of space. I copied the file over, half way through gave me a "THE DISK IS FULL", then when I looked at the directory that file was deleted. Imagine if this happens in lua.
