Default [READ] Dev Section Clean up

The current state of this section has gone dramatically down hill. Spam posts and flames have been going un-noticed. We no longer want this to continue, we agree you have a right to a opinion but it needs to be said in a nice manor.

If you don't trust an app, don't bother with it. Simple as that. If your philosophy on apps is any different, no wonder your pouting about lua flashers. You feel as if your entitled to use it at least once... When really, you don't even have to take the time to read the post right when it says 'made with lua' and 'flasher' in the same release post.
If you do not like the application please do not make drastically negative comment about it.

things are getting much too strict around here. i think people should have a right to voice their opinions (freedom of speech?) especially when it has to do with all this lua flashing bs (thank you so much SG)....

Not really strict if you read some of the topics lately its mostly spam/flames.

You can vent your opinion just do it in a nice manor. And there not new rules were just gonna enforce the current ones better.

Look at the reality: Had SG57 not made a lua flasher, this new measure would have not taken place. Thanks SG.

SG57 action allows Lua programmers more ability in what they wanna code. This new measure was only taken place cause users like to flame/spam and that is against the rules.

I'm glad this is happening.

But the post you really should quote is...
Quote:
One thing I've noticed..... is that Lua "coders" (= scripters) spam the most. Just look at this thread (the first few pages full of spam) :P

Anyway, I voted no. Lua is just too easy to get into, so there's gonna be a flood of nubcakes wandering to PSP Lua and eating the forbidden fruit of flash, eventually getting banished from heaven (= losing their PSP). Learn C if you're gonna dev something, it'll do much more for you in the long run (than "coding" with some scripting language which has a changing environment).
Now, I agree with that! (with the exception of few, like youresam).

What if every user in QJ posts spam all at once? Will every user be banned? (Just for reference...)

Please this is not a matter to joke about. I'm cleaning out the Lua flasher poll topic and will re open and keep it re opened if it stays on topic and goes without spam posts and the flame are minimal.

I believe users have the right to show there opinion as long as its within the rules.

Edit: Changed up the rules abit so they are not "Spam! ban!" we will give you a second chance but use that 2nd chance wisely.

Well, i would'nt be that angry with SG. So what if a lot of Lua flashers come out? If you don't want them, then don't download them.

SG is just helping no- begginers to learn a little more.

That's my point of view, and Brad, i totally agree with you, QJ is not that strict.

this is kind of needed, constructive criticism is still allowed completely, and the down-right flames should burn up (see what i did there ).
I mean, it is a bit harsh to criticise someone because they made something that's already been made before, it doesn't mean they didnt work on it...

Ouch*. The guy who posted the thread because someone's lua flasher release thread was being spammed (ahem*...me) still has a problem because it was his fault he posted non-relevant posts in his thread.

You're admiting to spamming your own thread? Brad probably cleaned your posts out along with the many other ones, so nothing to keep you up at night about :P

Anyways, im glad the rules are enforced Eventually, the flamers/spammers should realize that instead of clicking on a thread, reading it, than flaming/spamming, they could be doing something productive. Channel the energy that couldbe used to flame/spam, into say, learning how to program, which leads to development of a game/app, which benefits the homebrew scene, which benefits everyone.

Tad off topic, but thats how I got started atleast... I spent alot of time reading posts and commenting on releases (back during thesummer of 05'), be it positive or negative, until i decided to do something much more useful. Now, programming is a hobby of mine and has benefited me immensly... (made me look at everything from a different perspective, but thats just me)
