Porting/Creating apps specificall for IR Keyboard
Ive recently discovered the possibilities of an IR Keyboard with the PSP...
Ive ordered mine off ebay, $17.99 + ~$11.00 shipping (two-day from florida to washington).
While i await for my cute little keyboard's arrival, i plan to port some apps to be compatible wiht it. More specifically:
- IRC Client / Telnet Client by danzel (no more psprint!)
- Lua Player
In the end, i hope to replace the Sony's OSK prx with an IR Keyboard compatible one. Now, this sounds far fetch'd at first, but if you think about it, the SDK samples demonstrate launching and using Sony's OSK (in Quake by McZonk as well).
Now, my theory is to replicate the PRX completely at first, make sure it runs fine and operates like hte officla Sony osk.prx on the firmware. Than add IR Keyboard functionality (its really not too hard to make use of hte keyboard)
The PRX is located at
I believe atleast...
I have no idea whether or not this will work, but if you have another theory or method you think/know will work, please say it. Im just really really looking forward to ridding the PSP of an OSK, atleast for the pretty useful features (internet browser, afkim (danzel?), irc client, etc.).
Tell me what you think :o Ill get started on some ports now, ill work on the Sony OSK ir keyboard once mine comes on monday (or tuesday at latest).
Also, if you are an experienced (to an extent) C/C++ programmer, and would like to help in this little mission of mine, im willing to team up and make this a reality. I just really want this to happen, even if that means as a one man team.
