![]() "Beat the Time Zone." The Game Development Initiative proudly presents: GDi UK. The GDi is a organisation of Game Programmers and anybody who wants to become one. The GDi, in the future will hold exclusive and interesting resources, "GDi Games" (Game's that were created by one, but helped along the way by other GDi members, an easy way of getting help, and making sure the people who help are credited for their work) and conferences or events on IM programs. GDi UK is the first of the 3 sub-groups of the GDi: UK, US and AA (Australasia). UK is the first to be opened and the others will open once UK has established itself. UK consists of the United Kingdom, and most neighbouring areas. US consists of the US, and most neighbouring areas. AA consists of Asia, and Australia and of course, most neighbouring areas. If you have already signed up to the GDi, joining the UK sub-group is easy, just send a PM to me (Vaza) stating your country and your email address that you use for MSN (Currently only MSN is supported). Please do not try to join if you do not belong in the UK sub-group yet, Please join when your sub-group is officially announced as open. If you haven't signed up to the GDi, joining the Organisation and the UK sub-group is also easy! Just send a PM to me (Vaza) stating your country, MSN address and say that you haven't already joined the GDi. Discuss the UK group in here. GDi Main Thread: http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-developme...ook-89527.html Join now, and together the GDi can "Beat the Time Zone".

PSPHax0r9: All groups are genarally the same yet because of Time Zones, it's not possible to find a time to have a event that is suitable for everybody. This is why the groups are made, so that people in roughly the same time zone can have events without having to do it late in the night or early in the morning because of different people in different timezones.
Thanks Brad. for stopping the spamming.

Have you thought about setting yourself up on the Great Game Experiment?
http://www.greatgamesexperiment.com/ You can easily setup up groups, each with their own forums. On top of that, you can 'publish' your games for the rest of the site to see. Considering the people that put this together include GameDev.net and GarageGames, it could get a lot more exposure.

Hey Hedzx,
I have added you to the main GDi, and will need you to PM me when you join the US one. The US sub-group isn't available yet, however will be soon, around a week or more is my estimate. --Vaza

A lesson in geography. England and most of the UK is just off coast of the Netherlands, ![]() So you see, they should be in roughly similar time zones i hope that answers your question. |

Yes Netherlands and most of, if not all of Europe are in the same time zones as UK thus going into the UK group. Just like Canada and USA are in the same time zones so they go into the US group when it is made.

You should make it more like GDI: WEU (Western Europe) because the countries in Western Eu (Eng, France, Spain, Portugal) Are generally one or two hours after GMT (or GMT itself) this means that although the timezones won't have meetings at exactly the same time, it'll be similar enough for all countries to do it

Yes, my question was serious. And I know that my country is right next to the UK.
What I wanted to know was if the Netherlands where in the UK region for this project. But if the "meetings" are held at five o'clock I won't be able to join. Because i'm in the +1 timezone and I have to eat a six. (my time) So good luck with your project. |
