Default Is it possible to control GPU?

The PSP is amazing and we (the community) have cracked and hacked every peice of code and harware on the PSP. But is it possible to do anything to the PSP GPU like overclocking, getting the temperature, or changing the voltage?

If it's possible then maybe we can get some form of DirectX onto the GPU....

I know that programs have been able to utilize the CPU. Emulators such as SNES 9x TYL do.

However, I don't know much about the overclocking, or programing on the PSP. I think you can, but you'll want to get somebody else's opinion.

I don't think we will ever get DirectX on the PSP. I believe it's close sourced and highly dpependent of the window architect. Also, I think we only have about 90% (?) of the PSP's hardware for use. Not everything have been unlocked.

Bios is still pretty mysterious I also remember hearing something about a flash3:/? But pretty much everything you need is unlocked. To use the gpu, just use pspGU.
And directX defines crap. OpenGL ftw!

Lol, OpenGL is slow on the PSP and DX10 is a littlew lighter and hardware friendly. Some parts of SirectX are closed but everything can be hexed and all the files are in .cab files. I think that if anyone can unlock the GPU it would be a better alternative to overclock the GPU and not just the CPU for better tgame speeds.

PSPGU uses the GPU. all programs use the GPU. when you overclock the CPU, you also usually overclock the GPU. (i think lua does this for you) As for the DirectX vs. OpenGL, i havent used DirectX at all, and ive used OpenGL some, so i dont really know which is faster/overall better.

Well, I asked one of my friends, who is/was working with OpenGL, if the pspGu and pspGum was similer to OpenGL and he said that is is similer to OpenGL ES (I believe that ES stands for Embeded Systems or something). And I've been primarily using the Gu and Gum for most of my graphics in luaplayer. And since some people here are claming that the GPU is available using Gu and Gum, why not try it out? I've been getting around 60 fps in my game that has multiple images being used almost at the same time.

You cant overclock a PSP as the PSP was made to run at 333 but was "undefclocked" for battery life.

Anti - You most certainly can overclock the PSP. Theres been a PoC clocking it to 444, 400 and 366. 366 showed the startup then turned off. the rest just turned off i believe...

I think the PoC of overclocking to 444Mhz was either fake, or too dangerous so the original link was removed for the PSPs sake
