If you aren't competent enough to make a DATA.DXAR then you should not be running homebrew in the first place.

It verifies it, but it doesn't check the sums like the DXAR generator does, I believe.

but i dont understand why its illegal, whats wrong with the data.dxar?

and i wouldn't put a virus in the installer because i dont want to get banned here if u want u can compare the md5 checksum with the one thats given in the readme

I thought that too , but i heard someone flashed a DXAR from another OE and the firmware installation ran ...

So i think the checksum verification is only after the DXAR is generated.

Someone who don't bother to create a DXAR won't even bother to check the sha-1 ...

It's illegal to distribute DXARs because of the EULA provided with the PSP and the update EBOOTs. It contains copyrighted software that's been extracted from a form that is legal to distribute to a form that violates the EULA, and hence is illegal to distribute.

Yeah, its just like hosting an Update PBP and claiming that you made it....but if QJ can host the EBOOTs then why can't someone host a dxar? Its pretty much the same idea

Sony says you can distribute Update EBOOTs, but you can't disassemble them, which is what making a DXAR does. Hence you can't distribute DXARs because they're illegal files.
