aha hey there!!! hey listen i need mroe thats the prob...

umm if you coukld please make em...i need one where uve clicked choose mode... you see the go go go!!! thing and the creqated by altunozara thing but theres no optioons but make it so there are 3... hidden path and another one creative and the last a bit lower back and make it so its like cool were if its selected its a bit bigger...:-)

oh and just a tiny bit below it sais sgo go go!!! make it say choose mode and can i also have one of instruction with it saying instructions below go go go!!! and in instruction give your description of a game with different modes with different things tio do that you can have fun with in your spare time also saying that when ur actualy playign the game you can press L to exit and go to the menu and also say that there are so far 2 modes...ty sooooo much for all of this huge creditts to u!!!!

I'm not being mean, I am being honest. This is really bad if you are using Lua (which I'm not sure if he does), because you already have limited memory to work with, let alone loading all of those images.

I think what psp junkie is saying is that the proper way to do this would be to have the background as one image, and 2 images for each option. That will save you ~6 Mb of ram, which out of 32Mb is a lot. However as long as all the images are freed up after the menu then it doesn't matter at all.

Just to be an ass. That word means the opposite of what you are trying to say.

Also, a better way to do a menu is to have one background with all the options on it. Then have one more image that is the 'selector' and just move that to the different options. That way you only have two images.

Heh, it was too nice to say what was said... I'd simply say that he needs to learn efficiency

It's AWFUL coding practices, and with font libs one can use today one really has no excuse.... FFS, reloading WHOLE images.....

Well, first off, scratch the text all together and use a ttf. LuaPlayer supports it natively and FontLoader by Insert_Witty_Name is your best choice for C or C++.

Okay, I'm not really involved in this whole C versus Lua conversation, and I truly don't admire it, but loading individual images for a menu is really a waste. You can get a font and use the code to display the options, but individual images for individual options is a waste of memory and a waste of time. For once, I agree with PSPJunkie.

Okay, you know those fonts for your computer, right? The fonts are in files in the format of .ttf. If you use a .ttf file for your font, you can print:screen the text to the menu. Refer to www.evilmana.com or another Lua programming tutorial site for more info.

And PSPJunkie, the whole C vs. Lua argument started way back when Lua Plauer was made for the PSP. Who knows where it started? And the argument never will end, unless some all-powerful guy stops us.
