Any kind of explanation anywhere?
Edit: Ok I googled it and found this (http://pepviewer.blogspot.com/) but it's kind of useless posting "Here's something by someone" without an explanation. |

This program has been around for quite awhile. It just hasn't been updated in over a year. I figured everyone knew what it was without an explanation. It's similar to PSP comic, but many more features. However, PSP Comic can read archived images (.zip .rar .cbz .cbr) and PeP Viewer cannot.
The readme only mentions JPG and PNG image files, but Pep-Viewer will also display BMP, GIF, PCX, and TGA image files as well. Last edited by ytsejam1138; 05-29-2007 at 03:37 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Nice, I've wanted an update. Though no archive support. Has the author thought of ever implementing it?

i thought about it but where is the advantage of having cbr and cbz support?
you can just unrar or unzip these files and everything works. just to mention it, the precaching works only with jpeg and png, this feature is relatively new, i have to tweak it a lot |

I wish it had archived support as well. However, if you don't feel like unarchiving the files on a PC. You can always use Tipster's Unzip/UnRar utility. It works great with .cbz/.cbr as well. You can download it here: TipsterUnzipUnrar03.zip

Well i'm pretty sure it takes longer to transfer multiple files than just one file that contains them all. Not sure if it compresses that much, but still...

I haven't tried this yet but the last version was an excellent application and the best of it's kind that I have tried for PSP. It's good to see it's still being updated. Thanks.

Yes! I've been longing for an update for quite some time now.. great GREAT app. What I like the most of PEP Viewer is the smooth scrolling through the image AND the awesome resize algorithm it uses.
Keep on updating it, pensoffsky! Cheers. |

Nice to see the application out. Good job man
Compressed archive support would be a nice feature to have since the image transfer is faster. But in the end its all about reading the comics and the experience you gain through it so if cbr/cbz support can be added on the psp without sacrificing image quality and/or lessening the reading experience then be my guest, if not.. then no thank you.

Very Nice. Love the features (mp3 especailly), speed and GUI, stylish. And the zoom box is excellent. Though the file bowsing is alittle slow as theres no 'Up One Directory' button, or cycle back to the top when you get to the last file in a folder.
Also... another vote for cbr support. Quicker transfers, saves space, and for those that have all their comics in that format, its a pain having to extract a series for example - I've been re-reading Watchmen (for the 100th time) using PSPComic via IRShelll, which is in 12 seperate folders for each chapter - it would have been a pain extracting each one. It cant hurt to add the feature can it? For those that want to use them But anyway great program, look forward to any updates.

Amazing, I love how smooth it is and I'm glad the size restriction is gone. The only thing I would add is cbr/cbz support since it's faster to transfer a single file than multiple ones, but other than that, it's a solid program.

Don't get me wrong, after you iron out all of the bugs and add what you feel is appropriate for PEP Viewer, then you can start expanding to archives. I'd like it but I can still live without it. Just do what you feel is best for the program. --AzN_PlaYEr |

yea i was kinda holding back by one version just so i didn't have the size issue because it was causing all kinds of problems because alot of my comics and and even more of the mangas have dual pages in one file and that didn't like them
but great app intend to try this version out when i get a chance been using this since it was first released |

You can place jpegs anywhere on the memory stick (the navigator lets you browse everything) but comics need to be in folders and in jpeg format in order for you to see them. I dont believe PEP can read cbrs - you might want to try pspcomic for that. |
