hmm becuase my neighbor (works for harris and does alot of programing/coding) told me that this is pretty simple and that with a few apps you can crack it open and backward enginer it with no problem.

There's still no way you could extract the source code

You will never do so, anyway. Don't try to do that. Learn to program, then make you own software.

It's called reverse engineering, and no, DAX' CFW files aren't encrypted so you can't/don't need to decrypt them. You can disassemble them and if you're good in MIPS asm and C, you can kinda rewrite it from scratch. But it's not as easy as you may think.

What would be the point? DAX had to start rewriting some of his code to get it to work for 3.50. Lets just hope he gave what he had partially finished to someone else reputable.

you've got to know mips asm to be able to understand the prx dissassembly. dax did it last year with humma kavulas umd emulator core which is written in asm, he dissassembled it then rewrote it in c then released the source

A lot of things are simple in hindsight, particulary when they have been discovered by someone else. A lot of smart ppl were trying for a year or
two to achieve an end that was made possible by the first custom firmware POC,
but it's really very simple, and can be done with a few programs in a short time.
