We had to release our work because of a leak done by a lame website which we wont name in order not to bring visitors there.
This work was a full 3.10 and 3.40OE reverse done by us as well as new features for a future custom firmware which was meant to be closed source.
this lame site hacked one of our account using a flaw in the maxconsole database which is far from beeing safe.
and made it look like some of our group did the job.

Beside their leak contained copyrighted files used for reverse purposes ( which we removed in our released )

We are now considering several options such as stopping our project thanks to their lame action, or even sue them for DMCA infringement.
They are a disgrace for the psp scene and if we do release anything we will make sure that they cannot host any of our future releases.

I hope that other developers ( especially M33 ) will stand with us against such a threat, now and in the future.

WOW,

This really pissed me off, i knew stuff was leaked but i didnt know it was this bad.

Guys please i BEG YOU to continue your work and release them properly just because some f**ck*rs decided to leak doesnt mean you should stop. I mean sh*t happens. Really guys please dont stop i looked at your download but i didnt know anything but from the folder names i was excited i just hope that this stuff get's released properly. There is always something that will turn you down either Sony, or some lake hackers or some lame leakers but you shouldnt give up try to beat them. be proud and say "haha b8tch you leaked our sources but we aint giving up" I hope you understand me really. PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR WORK.

They themselves probably stole the code and used it. They just say that so they can have a cover up and not get flamed.

The downloaded files look valid enough, but it's odd that this exact same post appears on Maxconsole.
Even the parts about Maxconsole. Also posted there with a brand new account.

They didn't. The ****ers did, and the only reason this thread exists is that maxconsole didn't secure their database.

The code is legit. It is a complete reverse of the OE and other stuffs.

They re-released it because it was leaked anyway and as they said in their readme that way they avoid the site that leaked it to gain more visitors.

More like you didn't read the first post.

DAX firmwares were closed source, now it appears they aren't.
Anyone can use the source to change , upgrade, or improve it. Simple.

Problem is, who can be sure this falls in line with DAX's and other original devs wishes?
It's not ok to **** on any developer because they have left the scene.
So we could have the same problem over.

Interesting stuff, if it is just the reverse engineered OE firmwares then I have no use and wish that this is what it was in the first post.

This could be a good thing, but what it means in the short term is a bunch of knock-off custom firmwares that cause more bricks. Long term it could mean a lot more features in custom firmwares or even more innovation in the homebrew scene.
Unlikely though since there are already so many brilliant programmers here that make some wonderful things, now when the lite gets released I could see a ton of people coming into the homebrew scene though.

Ah well, only time will tell right?

who are team wildcard? are they the "10 anonymous devs from maxconsole"? how did betterofflead get hold of their source code? How did "team wildcard" come by dax's src?

there are not many in the scene capable of understanding that src, but there are LOTS of people who will copy+paste it without undrstanding it

Eh cool, but there will be loads of random firmwares now. ALthough if someone good comes along and makes a good firmware with new feastures then it will be worth it. Not that M33's firmware arnt good...

too bad that they didn't get ahold of the latest source version; it had much more interesting stuff in it, like an OGG player in the xmb, decrypted savedata support, playing all EBOOTs from the GAME folder and autodetecting the proper kernel, etc
