[beta release] cwcheat to nitepr converter

hi everyone,

i've been using cwcheat before but it seems that the latest version of cwcheat doesn't like the latest version of irshell so i went and tried to find myself an alternative. unfortunately i couldn't see any cheat dbs for any of the other alternatives so i went with nitepr because of it's easy to understand cheat file format. and perhaps like a lot of nitepr users out there, i felt that it was very tedious to convert from cwcheat to nitepr and i haven't been able to find any app that would do so automatically. so here i am sharing what i've worked on for 6 hours today, CWCheat2NitePR.

just unzip and run the exe file. you will, however, need to install the .NET framework.

the ui is quite simple and mostly self explanatory. it will read your cheat.db file and all the txt files it can create based on the db. due to the fact that i haven't had much time to debug this myself, i've included features which allows for problem detection in the form of message popups. these popups can be disabled as well.

please note that this tool can only convert certain codes which sanik describes here.

i will most likely not add new features unless the cwcheat or the nitepr file formats change but i will try my best to fix any bugs that will be discovered.

if you have any problems with this, please install the .NET framework first before bugging me here. and please include a detailed description of the problem. also keep a copy of your cheats.db as i might ask you to send it to me for debugging.

first post! seriously, i forgot to mention that i shamelessly borrowed the icon, but i don't remember exactly where i got it since it has been on my hard drive for a while now. :o i think it was pspbrew, so if you know where it came from, or if you made it yourself, kindly tell me so i can include proper credit in a readme file i'll include perhaps in the next version.

ok, found a bug where sometimes the last cheat gets totally ignored. i'll be fixing it soon and i'll release 0.51 right after.

you might want to redownload now. i fixed a bug which caused the last cheat in every game to be excluded from the converted files.

it's been a while since i touched either nitepr or cwcheat so i don't quite remember the file formats anymore. from what i remember though, i believe it shouldn't be too hard to create a converter from nitepr to cwcheat. now the real question is, will i write the code?

the reason why i created cwcheat2nitepr is because there's a cheat database for cwcheat that's being maintained. there wasn't any cheat database for nitepr. there was a need to convert cwcheat codes to nitepr codes that sanik even created a tutorial explaining how to do the conversion manually. honestly, i don't see the need to do the reverse and i don't think i'll have any idle time to do something i think nobody would bother with anyway.

i could be wrong though, so show me the people who wants it, and i'll write the code. on the other hand, if it's just you who wants a converter or if you're interested in writing the code yourself, i'd be more than happy to give you tips on how to go about it.
