Hi folks, some days ago I thought on beginning with plugins, and I coded this plugin in a few hours expecting this can be useful for someone, for using it or simply for learning on how to code a plugin, because sources are bundled.
This plugin has been designed and coded to optimize the energy consumption of the PSP while we stay in the XMB. This plugin has 4 main functions described here. -Music Mode: To activate this mode you have to press L+R, this performs an underclock to 60Mhz for the CPU and 30 Mhz for the main system bus, suitable to listen to your Mp3 and even ATRAC music files. Pressing again L+R will set the CPU/Bus speeds to the ones you had previously configured. -ToggleIdle: This mode disables the autoidle feature of the console (not of the screen) this mode can be toggled on/off by pressing R+START, useful when watching pictures of any kind (even porn! xD). -PowerLock: Pressing R+NOTE you will block the console power switch in order to prevent an accidental turn off of the system, if you toggled it on and you attempted to turn off the console it will simply don't, but when you unlock it, the console automatically will turn off (if you did not touch the power switch it will unlock but it won't turn off the system). -Software full power off: Pressing R+SELECT, the system will turn off totally, something like this was done by Test30 in his fastpower plugin, and this is what i've done in 4-5 Hours... To prevent issues like console hang ups, execute all the modes in the root of the XMB. Last edited by 3r Ch4mp1; 05-21-2008 at 08:10 AM.. |

Since the irsmp3 can be used for changning clock speeds that feature may not be so useful for me.
The toggle idle and the powerlock though are useful features. I would like to see most of this implemented into the next version of mp3prx v04f since I use that rather often and it is a better choice overall but this is a nice plug-in for the features it has. Before I use it I have to ask, are you sure it's stable? |

As for underclocking the xmb - the more battery you can get out of your psp so you can listen to music the better, especially when your out and can't charge it! I happen to think this is a great plugin, especially since the source was also provided so anyone can customize it (for instance i'm running 3.40* LE firmware and the combo select + r trigger of this plugin conflicts with the xmb recovery but the source is there so it can be altered)! |

This is a great idea, I just wish I had it last weekend when I was on a 22 hour flight to the USA for work
.In music mode, does it kill the screen too? And yes, before anyone says it I know you can hold the screen button to acheive this. I just thought it would be nice if this killed the screen and an accidental button press would not bring it back. I hate using the keylock because half the time you turn the keylock off you turn the damn PSP off

maybe u should add an auto feature in which when u enter the music menu or play a song the mhz switch to a native lower speed to save enerygy and so fourth with the pictures and video .So that u dont have to worry about switching them (options)

I'll try to improve the music mode with those suggestions you've made me, the screen kill and the auto underclocking. If the pspsdk is capable to do that i will do it. |

thanks a lot for the nice supply, i would like to change only the R & L Trigger Buttons..
found the line in the sourcecode and i think i know how change them but i didnt find any easy way to compile it without installing various SDKpackages etc. is there any way to compile sources like this with a simple commandline-compiler, i am still a noob in compiler things.. and if no, do you know a small sized prog to compile or is there a recommended prog from your side?! thanks a lot, and sorry for the little offtopic.. |

You must use the psp toolchain for cygwin/linux to compile, but there are other alternatives like pspdev or devkitpro, tiem ago i saw precompiled toolchains too.
Google a bit about these ones and you'll be ready to compile the sources |

hey 3r_ch4mp
can you add this feature to bookr so it doesn't dim the screen ever 2minutes? Dimming only cause the screen to go darker but it doesn't turn the screen off. Thus you can still read the words, but it is not good for the eyes. I would like the screen to be constantly on the brightest level without it auto dim every 2 minutes. Much appreciated if you can do this. |
