Default PSP Heart Rate Monitor V2

Hi Guys,
This is the second release of my PSP Heart Rate Monitor!

YouTube Video (note my activity in the PSP screen reflection):
http://www.youtube.com/v/YXMd_nauh4Y

As you probably guessed this needs a bit of a hardware hack to get it working,
but for anyone who can solder, it's a snap. Just a coil of copper wire connected
across the PSP microphone input becomes the antenna for a wireless chest transmitter.
The coil must be so close to the transmitter that it's "virtually wired" now.

Don't expect too much of a graphic display from the app!
It's still debug screen at the moment. Lucky there is a Heart Shape
symbol defined in ASCII.
Enjoy
Art.

Art great job, I'm a huge fan of your mods. can you help me out with a lil problem of mine. I have a remote for my psp but the headphone jack and serial part is broken off. can you tell me which wires goto where on that end. I'm planning on making an internal mod that will let me just plug my headset/mic directly into the psp without the long cable. I plan on putting it inside the psp. also inside the psp headphone port there is a switch that turn off the sound output if you use anything to depress it. also is there any way to disable that. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You want to connect the headset and mic to the plug that goes into the PSP
that has broken off the headset remote?

thanks for the quick reply. i have been needing this info for some time. thanks so much again.

actually, I am putting the actual remote inside of the psp. i have a few mods that i want to do. can't really talk about em in here as I'm afraid that they will be stolen by others. you can always add me to msn if you like. g00 at hawt mail dot com

I have some ideas that I think you might find very interesting.

Thanks for the comments Guys

soopergooman, I know it's small, but you'll be lucky to fit it in the PSP.
Why biuld the remote into the PSP? How will you access the buttons?
You realise you no longer need the remote to use a mic?

Hi,
I can't drink enough Coke when I'm programming!

V2 is the last stand alone Heart Rate Monitor app.
The next one is already biult into another app of mine called Time Baby,
because the HRM can work at the same time as all those other functions
that are provided by that program. Also the HRM will soon be able to talk

If the heart rate sensor is not connected, Time Baby just runs as normal,
and the heart rate monitor component of the program is invisible.
This app will become a test program for anyone making the sensor.

I'm about to go for a walk to test it.

^ Why haven't you updated X-Flash for CFW ?
Also no offense to your program but isn't there an easier way to do this without doing anything?

I can't learn any more from writing X-Flash, and I haven't updated my own firmware past
3.03 OE where it still works.

I don't really understand the second question.

This is actually a very interesting release. It's very different from every other homebrew release. It's a shame I don't have any skills in setting up the hardware side of it.

I will soon offer up a couple of sensors on eBay to see how they go since
they are relatively cheap to make.
That is of course when the app is better developed as an outdoor/ training aid.
The chest transmitter cost is still substansial, but it was time for me to get one anyway.
I have failed making a few stand alone heart rate monitors in the past
or someone else's design, because they used IR detection (or tried to).
