NFO:

Dear QJ forum users that were bricked by my careless lack of testing myself. I am sorry that it semi-bricked you. The ability to produce opening_plugin.rco's has been removed. I will research as to WHY it does this in 3.71 and make a brand new version. I will also look into why system_plugin_bg.rco's also are weird in 3.71. Please enjoy this semi-propered release.

Enjoy.

Thank you! Now I can make a version of Ambient Perspective with a bootwave! It always corrupted the wave when I tried to extract it from my system_plugin_bg.rco, for some reason. I really appreciate this!

I think he means for the old psp, but I'm guessing it works in CXMB for the Slim.

No, he means that we can edit the waves in 3.71 RCOs. I was editing 3.71 RCOs earlier today, but I can't do anything with them yet.

The unlocker program unlocks your flash0, meaning you can read those hidden files and folders and also write to them just like any other older firmware. This nullifies the need for CXMB since we can flash it now.

And yes it works for both Slim and Fat. I tested it myself, and had a few others test it too.

My little script determines if you actually need it unlocked, and if your flash0 is not unlocked yet it will run the command and unlock the flash0.

The next version of my program will probably be a GUI and either run on PC or PSP. I am not sure which would be a better one to target.

Only 3.60+ needs unlocked. You arn't understanding what I said.

This doesn't enable any new features like that. Reread what I said and come back once you understand it.

Ok, I just tried this on 3.71M33 on a PSP-1003, using one of the default TGA's that come with the app (flames.tga). The program generated the files, I copied them across to the flash0, and got a semi-brick for my trouble.

Is there anything you need to do different from the normal instructions to get the generated files to work on 3.71M33?

All the unlocker does is remove hidden and system attributes from the files.

This doesn't change the ability to used decrypted rco files from what i tested yesterday on 3.71m33 and what i tested on 3.60m33. Although i didn't try it with system_plugin_bg.rco I only used a decrypted topmenu_icon.rco and that DEFINITELY didnt work.

I even put back the +r +s +h on the topmenu_icon.rco and it didnt work.

I even went as far as using a date changer app to match the created/modified dates on the original file and it didnt work.

Just to for warn you...if you remove and replace flash0 files, eventually the psp corrupts it.

Here's what happend to my 01-12.bmp on 3.60m33 after trying more than 10 times to get a custom wallpaper to work! If you dont want to corrupt your flash files, I suggest waiting for a ported version of cxmb.

\This has been stated over and over. 90% of the flash files are read only/hidden/system attributes.

In order to see them in windows explorer you hvae to enable show hidden files, and remove hide protected system files. Then all 22mb of your flash files show up.

this is the first step to total 3.71 customization. and its been pretty fast too! this will make me lean more towards 3.71 m33. (perhaps ill wait until the 1.50 patch but i have pandora with 1.5 firmware so i dont really need it. plus i kinda like my applecor theme so we'll see.)

When I've replaced the system_plugin_bg.rco with one I've made using the program, it was ok! But as soon as I've copyied the opening_plugin.rco into flash0 , the PSP semi-bricked! I think this is what happened to pepsiman14 and UncertainGod also! Can you tell me pls where I can find a good eboot.pbp to run it from the Recovery menu?!

Yes it's definitly only the opening_plugin.rco that is causing the brick, the generated system_plugin_bg.rco seems to work fine, although some of them look a bit odd.
