Default LUA ported to Slim?

Anyone got it working? I tried to re-compile it in Cygwin but there are just too many errors.

The current version can start up successfully in eLoader, but then .. it can't load the script files.. keeps complaining that the script file is not found.

Did you try converting it to an ISO image?

But then of course you would have to switch the current directory ms0 because (i think) it will start in disc0 if you mount it as a umd.

I think I did that, but I'll check again. I'm surprised there wasn't much discussion on it!

This does absolutely nothing. You're still running in GAME mode on the 3.71 kernel. The compatibility is the same. Worse, in fact, considering that you break hard paths.

I just tried it, doesn't work, as expected.

I'm testing this on my Fat PSP before I transfer it over to my Slim, but it keeps complaining about my proportional Font when it is loading:

"attempt to index global 'Font' (a nil value)"

I guess you need to load the font files now?? It was already built-in before.

I'm having similar problems with the script i'm trying to play. The script in question is the XBMC 0.7.6b mod released last month or so. The "author" said the eboot.pbp bundled with the script was by Elxx but since its becoming more difficult to use a 1.5 kernel app and since 1.5 doesn't support my WPA network encription I was hoping this might answer my prayers. Unfortunately I run across quite a few issues with the "new" build here for 3.71.

1. It has issues when using the & operator in math equations.
2. for some reason the require command to inline include additional script commands doesn't work properly it says it can't find the file and lists out a load of paths it tried but the file in question is the settings.ini which is in the same dir as the eboot.pbp and the script.lua file.
3. if the above 2 problems are remedied then we come up with the font issue dsi stated above. I'm not really sure how to go about getting past this as I'm not a lua programmer I know just about nothing about it.

Who knows what other problems exist for the script I'm trying to make work but I'm sure there are others.

I tried to load a TTF font using Font.load(fontname), but it still gives the same error message. I'm not an expert at LUA but to me it means the font libraries are not being loaded and thus the interpreter doesn't now what the Font reference means.

1. The script is for another version of LUA
1.2 The new version of the script is up to date and working on newer versions
2. Elxx's eboot allows the use of bitwise operations
1.2 Bitwise operations have been removed
3. The 3.71 eboot has (currently) reduced functionality until they get kernel mode on 3.71.
3.2 Wifi doesnt work, nor does USB.

4. I myself will not update the current release so its compatable for the new eboots, thats what the WIP is partly about although nothing is stopping you from opening notepad++ and doing a bit of DIY.
5. "author" is overkill contributor is more like it.

From what im hearing, the lua player eboot for slim/3.71 is very similar to Lua Player .11 (i think...) Seeing as the font funcs are missing and the filesize of the eboot. I remember that way back when (the days of 2.00 tiff loader) the only lua player that would work (initially) was .11.

just my 2 cents.
