* Copy the entire content of the attached file to PSP\GAME folder.
* Rename Original FW 1.50 file to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder.
* In the Game menu launch "Update to X.Y.Z."
* Follow the onscreen instruction and it's done in a while.

I got a FAT PSP with motherboard prior to TA082. I've no responsibility if you damage your PSP with the above procedure.
Works on TA-079 and TA-082

So you go into recovery mode and select to run the app at psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp (Or whatever the correct directory is) and instead of running the 1.5 downgrade, it actually goes to the XMB?

No thats not it...maybe I saw it maxconsole and assumed it was already posted here.

@Bhunter. you can't recover from 3.71 because there is no 1.5 kernal (I think), so your only option is to use pandora. I think this hack stemmed from making pandora on the 3.XX kernal.

this one runs under the xmb
and the recovery one will not run and goes to the XMB

so if you run this it will work
and if you run under recovery it won't work

I see, It makes sense now, I had no idea prior to just now that you could not run recovery, it makes perfect sense but I just never thought about it .
