What IPL did you use/install to the memstick?

Hey, I got this...
" ERROR WHILE INITIALIZING: 0x80ca0003
Installing firmware to memory stick.
Hang on, this will take a while, time to get a coffee.. ;-)"
Can anyone help me with this pls?
I had that problem as well. You need to make sure you have all necessary EBOOT files in the root of your memory stick - the readme supplied seems to be somewhat outdated. You need 1.50, 3.40 and 3.80 files, named 150.PBP, 340.PBP and 380.PBP respectively. You can get these either at QuickJump Downloads or PSP-Hacks .
That is, if you want a DDC pandora, which will restore you to 3.80 M33, rather than a classic, which takes you to 1.50 (ofw).
Soo, this was the steps i made to make the "pandora battery":
1. run the homebrew, and choose the "ms and ipl option"
2. format memstick
3. restart psp, create again the folders, copy the homebrew and original firmwares (150, 340 and 380).
4. Execute the homebrew again, and choose the first option (install dcc).
5. After finish the copy of files, i choose "battery options" , set serial, and make pandora battery.
Then, when I shutdown my psp, and restart with ms+pandorized battery, my psp turns on automatic , but the screen turns black and not apears on the screen.
This is the steps I made, have I forget something ?
Maybe instalation of MSIPL.BIN ? :humped:
Thanks to revision 4 I Can run either DDCv5 or DDCv4 using Jas0nuk's ELF Menu.
Thanks for the revsion 4 Hellcat.
is there any other elf files i should add apart from the NAND Tool ones. Just to make it my Magic Memory Stick even better
Hmm, I just checked, the readme states the correct filenames.... well anyway, now that it works ;)
Yep, the app need almost every single byte of RAM the PSP has....
I don't think deactivating plugins from inside an app is possible, but I might at least put a note into the readme, or let the program spit out a message that there's memory consumed by other things in the back....
Yezzzz! That's it :D Install the MSIPL.BIN and it should work :)
You're welcome, I'm glad you folks seem to enjoy this small tool so much :):):)
If you find any other .ELFish tools, that are worth to be added to a magic stick, mind telling me about them? :)
I'll then ask their devs for permission to add it to the installer, like ELF-Menu and NAND-Tool are :)
Still getting any error messages?
Does the MS LED light up?
0x80CA0003 means, there's something wrong with the .PBP - maybe redownload/recopy it?
It doesn't really matter when you apply the MSIPL installation.
The file is created when you either let it create a DDC or classic MagicStick, so on a fresh'n'empty stick that step should obviously come after MagicStick setup.
Apart from that, it really doesn't matter :)
Yah, I gott rewrite the quickstart anyway....
I will test this out tomorrow when I will be awake lol. Thanks!!
Darn, when everything finally went well it says that I cant patch my battery cause of my motherboard version. Can this be solved?
Unfortunately not, it's a hardware issue, Sony removed a few bits required to write to the battery EEPROM.
So far, no workaround has been found - not sure if anyone is looking for one though....
Nice Update man.
I like the layout of they program makes it far easier to use, and looks far better
Thanks
Ok, I got a pandora battery and afterr I insert the batt into my psp the power turns on but the screen is black. How do I solve this? Can someone help pls?
Yea I did read on ur answers to the similar problems but after i installed msipl.bin it still has the same problem. Sry then for troubling u.
Ok, finally after 4 days of this it finally worked. Found out that i just had to create files for the homebrew and the cfw and only then I could install msipl.bin without my memory stick "crashing". Really sorry hellcat for troubling u. Btw thx alot for helping. Anyone would get irritated for answering repeated qns. Great homebrew btw.
This is sooooo awesome! I was using the old old guide to do everything manually and still couldn't get it to work with the PSP Slim GoW. With this, all it took was 5-10 mins and I'm running 3.80M33 :) Now time to upgrade to 4.01M33-2.
Thank you for this Hellcat! Really!
I'm having trouble uploading the file.
I put the 1.50 eboot in my mp root folder then the pan3xxr4.rar in my game folder like the instructions said to. what do i do now? and I formatted my mem stick
my psp is a slim with 4.01
Are you running custom firmware?
I try and try but nothings!!
sorry for my stupid question.
It runs only if you have cf installed?
i have a new slim with 3.95.
thank you for your patience.
bye
okay i read the README again. this time i put all three eboots in the root folder of the memory card. but i'm still getting the same problem. the problem is i can select the pandora installer, but everytime i try to start the installer it says "The game could not be started.
(80020148)"
please and thanks in advance
If you psp isn't already on custom firmware you cant use the pandora files to make your magic memory stick, search easymagicstick or something like that it'll make the stick without needing a PSP already using CFW. You will need a pandora battery though.
so if i don't have a pandora battery, or custom firmware i can't do anything then? (i don't have either). is pandoras battery not a way to downgrade psp firmware to 1.5?
You have to buy a Datel TOOL Battery from a reliable source as well as a 256MB memory stick which is MagicGate compatible. You then have to search for an easy installer which you must look for yourselves as there are copyrighted files which QJ Forums cannot provide.
so if i buy a pandora battery, can i downgrade my psp then put customfirmware on it?
yes
Yeah buy a battery tool, personally i use this which you place your battery into and press the button and it automatically softmods you battery to pandora mode. And it also can convert your battery back, itcan convery both phat and slim batterys.
As for the memory stick any which support magicgate and over 256mb will be fine. Official sony are the best to use or some sandisk ones. You can check if magicgate is supported by your card by going on your psp and then to the memory card icon press Triangle and select information option.
PM if you need help configuring your memory stick once you have your battery if you like.
I have small problem... I have MMS with DCv5 and TM for long tome, i wanted install ELF menu from your Pandora Installer, bur it not works, i can BOOT only DCv5. Pls HELP THX...
use pandora installer. it will install the elf menu if you want.
read the guide for making a perfect pandora's battery for a different easier way to add it.
once i buy the converter how do i downgrade it/install custom firmware onto it?
