It depends on how many milliwatts of power you are getting. The cheap ones are probably 10mW or less. The ones in the site Califrag pointed to have lasers in hundreds of milliwatts. Also, blue and green lasers are automatically more expensive than red ones because they are more complicated to achieve with that color.

bncplix, it works with all,
cause as califrag said, it works with Luminance:

Since the laser is generally going to be the most luminant thing in the field of view, it's able to find it.

Hey Sullivan, thanks for your interest in my program!

I haven't publicly released the source yet as there aren't many people who can compile the regular camera samples. Without the ability to compile those then my source code will be useless.

If you want, check out the ps2dev forums and look for a thread titled "chotto cam accessing".
It has the source code and the libraries you will need there.
Once you've got the usbcam libraries installed then let me know and I'll send over the source for my program.

Super bump Necro - I've updated this to work with 5.00 M33 and thanks to Art I've fixed a bug that caused the program to crash. Stupid simple things!!!

I've also included the source code with this release.

I just did this with a Canon Powershot camera (I'm doing more on the camera scene lately)...
Being a camera already, it didn't need any added accessory
It's a lot slower than the PSP though.

I might port my laser invaders game over to it
