Move the box using four different control methods: follow, mimic, gesture, and direct.

Download the NEW control demo below if you want to test it out.
This demo has been updated to work on 5.00 M33 and bugs that crashed the program have been fixed!

I've also included the source code with this release.

You will need a ChottoShot/GoCam and a laser pointer (or other ingenuity) if you want to use it.
One user made a webpage with all black background and uses the camera to track their mouse! Awesome!!

lol my plans include the following:
mount the laser pointer, PSP, and camera to a remote control car
let it drive itself around
make it scan for wireless networks, connect to unprotected ones and send a webcam image to ftp, along with GPS coordinates and whatever other info.
move on.
of course it will have an air-soft pistol for some fun and to fight off thieves ;D

I was considering making some simple "shooting" games where targets would appear and you need to shoot them with the laser, and toying with the possibility of making this into a PRX that can run in the background of games and allow you to possibly control an FPS with the laser, looking left or right, or aiming or something. I dunno

sweet idea. maybe I'll put together a mini-games type game with a combination of short but fun games, shooting stuff, escape the maze, trace the outline/draw a picture, etc etc. based on user's suggestions.

i thought you were ****ting me but it really does work i just tested this then also if you set it up right it makes the psp more like a projector well what im saying is you can use it like a maffice projector.

this will work on the slim wont it coz it is on official kernell i used it on 3.40 oe-a and it worked in game340 folder so

if you hook up your slim to the tv and use your laser pointer on it it will be like a maffice projector.

ill show you what i mean if you want it covers about a 32 inch tv screen it has a realy wide area this really is the coolest discovery for a while

this should work on the slim AFAIK as it is compiled for 2.71+ user mode.

Very nice and creative! I see lots of potential with this! However, though I find your remote control car wifi scanner Webcam uploader neat, I don't see where the laser pointer comes into it. The other ideas seem nice, however, like shooting games, drawing programs, escape the maze (without touching walls). This could really go places, and it is very innovative, unlike a lot of what we see in the PSP scene. Great work and I hope you take this to the full potential. I might have to pick up one of the Camera's now :P

wikipedia can explain better than I can.

"Luminance is often used to characterize emission or reflection from flat, diffuse surfaces. The luminance indicates how much luminous power will be perceived by an eye looking at the surface from a particular angle of view. Luminance is thus an indicator of how bright the surface will appear. In this case, the solid angle of interest is the solid angle subtended by the eye's pupil."

Since the laser is generally going to be the most luminant thing in the field of view, it's able to find it.

and as for the super-rc-car I have planned, the laser pointer will serve several purposes:
1) range finder (to determine distance before colliding with an object, also for whatever other range-finding purposes)
2) laser scope for air-soft pistol
3) laser guided travel i.e. point laser anywhere and robot car will follow
4) not sure what else yet

thats a very cool idea..u c...i own a Xmods RC car...i tryed to see if the frequency is seen by the psp and it was...i was able to control my rc car with my psp...i think thats the only rc car i know that allows the psp to control it cuz of the frequency crystals in it.....mabye you can test on that...(its fast too..and its moddable

yes that would be brilliant like maze games and games like duck hunt, and maby a rally racer (where the track is on-screen and you have to contral the car with the pen). wow homebrew is brill now

i dont have a laser pen but a mouse on a pc works just as good

Yes, I saw it, but don't you think it's pretty strange itjust blinks at the end? That's fake for me, and also, being an enthusiast in electronics I know that it would need a very good wifi module to do that and it doesn't seem to have it.

and i would assume that after you have that, it doesn't matter what you have, as long as it connects to a computer and the rc car is within range of the network, it could send commands. This is why he was able to control it using a PDA, PSP, Wii Controller, or whatever other electronic controller he could connect to his computer.

i don't like calling "fake" on things because it undermines people's hard work if it actually is real. I like to challenge myself to figure out - how could I do it. If I could do it, then that guy could probably do it. I think I could do it.

Plus - did you check out their website? Seems pretty legit to me: http://www.wifibot.com/

They look like they know what they are doing

Anyways it doesn't seem very difficult to control a remote control car through WIFI, as long as you have the proper components and knowledge.
