Default [RELEASE] PSP RSS Manager

PSP RSS Manager is a Windows-based manager for the PSP's RSS channels. You just plug in your PSP, run the program, and you're off. It works with any PSP, firmware 2.80 or above, including custom firmware and non-hacked PSPs.

--= Update =--

v0.3b is out!

Updates:
Quote:
In version 0.3 Beta:

* Sorting is no longer automatic; you can keep it unsorted if you want
* "Move up" and "Move down" buttons have been added so you can reorganize the list

In version 0.2 Beta:

* Several bug fixes and error checks - e.g. can't pick "Reload all channels from PSP" or "Save all channels to PSP" unless you've loaded the list; disabled Delete/Apply/Undo buttons when the list is empty, etc
* "Channel" menu -> "Get from URL": Grabs all the necessary info from the URL you specify, so all you have to do to add a channel is copy and paste the URL
* Listing is now sorted alphabetically

PSP RSS Manager v0.3 Beta by FreePlay

This is a tool (written in about four hours, hooray) that allows you to manage the RSS channels stored on your PSP. With any PSP on firmware 2.80 and above, homebrew-capable or not, it lets you:
* Enter the title, URL, web link, description, and copyright information for an RSS channel
* Indicate whether a channel should be added to the list of pre-selected channels when you pick "Select Multiple" in the RSS channel viewer
* Add and delete channels
* Save the listing to your PSP for instant access

What's new?

What's next?

In the future, I'll add some more features, obviously. Give me your requests!

Use:

* "PSP Drive" dropdown menu: Lets you pick your PSP drive.
* "Channels" list: Lets you pick a channel to edit.
* "Title", "URL", "Web Link", "Description", and "Copyright Info" boxes: Self-explanatory.
* "Add to 'save multiple' list" checkbox: Lets you indicate if the channel should be added to the list of pre-selected channels when you pick "Select Multiple" in the RSS channel viewer.
* "Add New" button: Adds a new RSS channel to the list, using the information in the text boxes.
* "Delete" button: Asks for confirmation, then deletes the currently-selected channel.
* "Apply channel changes" button: Temporarily saves the changes you've made to this channel, so you can edit another one. The changes are only saved in memory; they're not saved onto the disk.
* "Undo channel changes" button: Reverts to the last saved/'applied' version of the channel.

File menu:
* "Reload all channels from PSP": Cancels any changes you've made and reloads the listing from the last saved version.
* "Save all channels to PSP": Applies any changes you've made and saves the listing.
* "Exit": Self-explanatory.

Feel free to give me suggestions. Oh, and this requires the .NET framework. I'm not sure which version; I think just .NET 2.0.
Spoiler for v0.2b:

In the future, I'll add some more features, obviously. One I'm working on will grab all the necessary info from the URL you enter when you click a button, to make it even easier to just copy/paste a link into the RSS channel listing. This won't take me long, but it's 10:35 PM and I have to work tomorrow

Use:

* "PSP Drive" dropdown menu: Lets you pick your PSP drive.
* "Channels" list: Lets you pick a channel to edit.
* "Title", "URL", "Web Link", "Description", and "Copyright Info" boxes: Self-explanatory.

I'm sure I can; something like 'move up' and 'move down' buttons would be pretty easy. I'll check into that tonight.

Since you're manually writing the files to the PSP, is there a way to add a 'text' RSS ?

I want to read Engadget new with the built in reader.

Eh?

There's no RSS text reader on the PSP. It's only for audio playback and video downloading.

I didnt want to read the text right there. I know it doesnt support text. I was wondering if tere was a way to just make it show the titles. And you can open it in the browser for reading.

This isn't a piece of homebrew; it's a Windows program. It can't make the PSP do anything.

No, no, I'll elaborate.

This is a program that manually puts the RSS "data" on the PSP, which in turn the PSP's RSS Reader will load and display the channels described there, right ?

Hence is it possible to write a text channel's URL? The contents (text) of each item wont show up cos the RSS reader doesnt support it, but atleast the "titles" of each item in the feed should show up right? And the browser link to the full article should also work. I'm presuming the URL/Item format is the same for text/multimedia and only the content differs.

No; when the PSP adds a text-only feed, it says "There are no items available." Unfortunately.
