Very nice app. Art very useful when out of town.
One suggestion, maybe it could only talk the signal strengh when it first finds it and then only when the signal changes.Instead of constantly repeating the signal strength.
Or maybe just some delay between repeating unless signal strengh changes.

Thx Guys, if the Time Baby thing in the readme is the only bug I'm happy.
I find the sound quite annoying when there are no connections.
I will change that to something more like a ticking sound or something.
Whan connections are available, the strength is always changing
from second to second, so it's hard to do anything about that
other than mute it when it gets annoying.

So far there is no button input, except there is exit code.
You have to hold the HOME button down, not very responsive at
the moment.

nice app
perhaps a few sugestions
- ability to add custom sounds
- basic mp3 player function, whenever an open network is found you get a strong soundsignal, louder then the music itself (I would love this becaus I also use my PSP as an MP3 player sometimes (depends if I've left my mp3 player at home or not ) and it would be just great to know when you walk into an open network )
- perhaps as a prx plugin (just a sugestion ^^ but it would reduce the need for a built in MP3 player )

edit: might sound like allot of sugestions, but I realy like the app, it's not that I don't apreciate it ^^ great work

I've had problem with cooleyes' mp3 player in the past, only being able to play a single
mp3 in any program session. I might have another crack at it here.

There are a few things I haven't finished for myself yet.

Up until now, I hadn't learned a thing out of this, having the speech stuff ready to go from my last program.
The one thing I have picked up is I can make unsupported characters on the
screen, or make up my own characters by drawing them to the screen with
the full stop (period) character Unconventional and slow, but can be done.
-= Double Post =-
Ok, new one in the first post.
Hopefully all is ok with the later firmwares.
I thought it time to check since this one plays with CPU speed and screen brightness.

I tried double tapping HOME and that seems to exit the app as well.

Here's maybe another possibility, Have the screen dimmed or dark color when there are no open networks. And then have the screen flash or have the whole screen blink green when a open network is discovered.

At the moment no. I'll keep it simple and add a bunch of options if no luck with
an mp3 player.
a spoken "zero" would be one option that doesn't sound out of place.

I've noticed it freezes if you try to exit the program when it was launced
from iRshell to play music. I've tried to fix that with no luck, but made it
crash the PSP to turn off instead (only under iRShell).

I thought text centering on the y axis might be the go,
but not so sure it would look better.

Yes you're right.
There will be an adjustment all the way down to zero in a future version.
At the moment the lower limit is 5.
I'll get another one up soon. Just got no LEDs working (all LEDs off).

I really like this and hope it goes some were fun.
My only suggestion and/or question is, are you planning on adding a way to add the found wifi spots into your psp so you could go and browse the web with them?

As far as I know the PSP has six wifi channels so there could only ever be
six connections on the screen at once, is this correct?
I don't want to use too much of the screen if I print stuff on the bottom.
-= Double Post =-
The next one will be able to log the last 3mins,50secs of maximum
unsecured signal strength.
This screenshot is me walking the perimeter of my fence three times in a row.
You can see the pattern of coverage stays the same

The graph is scalable to half the height, but not time scalable yet.

Have you seen how netstumbler for the PC does its Signal Strength vertical lines may look snazzy but easy for us non programers to say.
