I wasn't sure if I should post in this particular section of the forums, but here goes.
I am, "just a kid on the block," when trying to do coding. Right now I have a Mac 10.4 PPC and it doesn't allow me justice when I want to use a PC app. Anyways, I found that someone had decompiled Sony's Playstation network setup/program that allows you to download stuff from the store via a PC. So I downloaded what the guy had and I opened it up in the Apple program, Xcode. Right away I think I am going to try to replicate it in Cocoa format and I have already sort of started on a Main Window. for me, there will be some obstacles in the road due to the fact that I don't have alot of programming/coding "education." If some people could help me out, or just give me thoughts and opinions, I'm sure that sooner or later, I could, conceivably make a successful port. Just to be sure, is this legal what I am doing? because I am not going to sell it or whatever. anyways, sorry if what I am asking is a request, just thought I would check out this idea. And also, if someone could please post some screenshots of the PC version, that would be great so that I will know exactly how menus and stuff should be done. (EDIT) I have decided that I will actually just make a small application that will sort of mimic what the PC version does. It will ask for the .pkg file, and to get it there, it will ask you to browse your computer's memory/drives. More info to come asap.

oh, oops. I meant that i will just port the program that allows you to put the legally downloaded demos and stuff onto the PSP when it is connected to your computer. I don't mean that I will make an entirely new store or anything.

I don't even remember where, but it's a folder that has "C" resource files among other things. But what I have decided is that I am going to just completely make a new version of this. The reason why is because your right in one respect, and that is the fact that it is quite a bit to convert. My new thoughts are to make a new app from the ground up, programmed in Cocoa and a bit of Carbon, where basically it will have a little window within the main window, and it will ask you to browse your computer for the .pkg file that needs to be installed to get the actual file(Eboot) and then transfer it to a PSP. The one problem is that I will have to search the original program files for the installer itself, and then combine it with the new program that I will make.
