effeXMB - Effects XMB

I came up with an idea and started deving it, Unfortunatly i lack the software (OS) and knowledge of coding PRXs. So i call out to all the PRX devs out there to help with this program.

Basicly i aim to add custom effects to the PSPs XMB simply to make it more pleasant to look at and navigate.

Effects like:

-Fade slowly to black when the PSP screen is switched off
-Fade slowly to black when the PSP is switched off
-Selectable In-XMB graphics
-> rain
-> snow
-> sun rays
-> (others, ideas plz)

-Screen Savers (Give me idea for them)
-> LSD (a kaleidoscope effect screensaver)
-> Bubbles
-> A Text display that flys around the screen

Here is a screenshot i put together to give you an idea of what it should look like;



The indicator bar in the middle tells you what effect/icon scheme your psp is using. you scroll through the available schemes by pressing 'square + L' or 'square + R'.

Screen Indicator:

Something along the lines of this



When the setting is selected, the icon you selected pops outwards a bit to show you've selected it.

EG in the picture above the 'sun' is selected

each setting will change the icons theme as well as create particles depending on the effect you've chosen. eg. snow will change the icon theme by making all the icons covered in a little bit of snow while having snow particles spawn in the background.

I dont think the screensaver would work. I guess you could make the effects work.

Yea i mean its not as if your going to leave your psp on till you get a screen saver.... I was thinking of it being lua orientated... im not sure but possibly an xmb lua integration...

I have a few new pictures and a new design but you will have to wait till tomoro for me to upload them (NZ time +12 gmt its 12:30 now im/should be in bed)

Yes but if you didnt read... i wrote that i cant post this in the right forum because ive been banned from that forum so its completely unfair if they lock this one....

Ive uploaded the new style screen shots... what do u guys think? better then b4 or keep the old style

Im working on the themes so people on 3.71 m33 can try out the themes, i will then try to make a prx that auto selects the themes

eventually an ini file that lets you add themes/styles

Sounds interesting but even if you were banned from the forum this goes in I doubt this one won't be locked and you banned for it.

Sounds like a good project though, I've always wanted to change some things of the XMB without massive changes. Think being able to use either the built-in zoom or PEP-Viewer's while looking at photos and bookmarks. Think launching Light mp3 when trying to listen to music instead of it opening the music.
Those are the two main ideas I would like other then adding an icon for launching Bookr to read ebooks with.

Re_Animate: Looks like a good Idea. I know how to do all this and implement it. If you need help PM. It really isnt that hard to do this. Depending upon how you do it it can be nicer or less nice. So Just PM me if u need help.

Press square and it appears and you navigate through it?



instead of a cross icon we have a settings icon that lets you choose the programs to keep on the dock.

then when you select the program on the dock the background changes to the background you see when you select the program under game.
