Default [Question] XMB Background Rendering???

Is there any way to render the XMB Background in a Homebrew app much like a Update? I was curious I got a random urge to build a new Flashmod for installing Themes and I wanted to use the XMB Background Waves and such in the background. Also has anyone been able to connect to a MySQL Database through a Homebrew app before?

I can't answer your first question, but it's possible to connect to a MySQL database - I've done it several times with the high score tables in my games.

If you'd take the effort of reverse engineering the method sony used to create the wave effect, yes. Then you could write a perfect 'simulation'. Else you'd be left with creating a clone effect that looks similar - shouldn't be too hard with a bit of knowledge on splines and the GU.
