Default [release] small plugin

This is a small plugin i made for my convienence, i thought some random ppl out there would like it too XD

http://s1.uppit.com/d/35VR7J

all it does is turn off the screen and underclock your psp when you put it to hold, it works for 3.71 m33,
i use it cause i dont like turning off the screen and underclocking via vsh menu when i put my psp on hold for musics ^^

Nice! Whenever I listen to music I have to underclock my PSP, turn off the backlight, and then switch on my hold button. This will be the first addition to my PSP when I get it back. What does it clock to? (or could you make a second version that sets it still at a speed that my PSP can play music at?)

Thanks, this is the sort of functionality I've been looking for.

Just a question, how low does it underclock to and does it lower the bus speed too?

Nice plugin; very useful. Since I tried it out of curiosity I'm reporting that it doesn't work on 3.52 M33.

Hmm, 60Hz isn't bad. Doesn't beat LightMP3 but is a good bit more versatile. Don't suppose you care to look into adding a feature where it auto-resumes the music you were last playing before you put the system to sleep.

Thanks for the speedy response and for the plug-in, will try it out when I connect my PSP to my laptop again.

Ooh, sweet. Thanks, I've been needing something like this because I started using my PSP as an MP3 player due to my Sansa somewhat breaking...

Well one thought is you could look into LightMP3 and Music.prx and see if either produce suitable sources to help.

One other thought is, do you think mp3's would work fine at lower settings then this or is this the lowest workable level you could get it to?

Still though, thanks for this and for your responses. If I'm bothering you sorry, just trying to brainstorm ideas to improve this since I like to try and be helpful with what little I know so ultimately I can benefit.

@korlithiel
i wanted to keep it as a plugin and since i still dont know enough about modifying the way the xmb behaves, i couldent make it a full featured thing ><
i had an idea to force the xmb to play mp3's through the media engine (not sure if thats possible) so could clock the cpu lower like lightmp3 does

and most mp3 played fine at 50 for me but just to be safe i put it a bit higher ^^

Good enough for now I suppose, thanks again for the quick response.

Also, I understand wanting to keep it as a plug-in. If I could code I've gotten tired of having to launch homebrew applications just to get certain functionality so I think keeping it as a plug-in is idea.
Though music.prx is a plug-in and I believe the source is available and if not at least irsmp3.prx is made available and one of those could be helpful.

Think I found a bug... on mine I've noticed after coming back from Hold, it prohibits usage of Sleep mode. I have to take out the battery or hold the Power switch for however long until it shuts down.

This would be nice. I find it hard to get the PSP out of hold without putting it to sleep. ...My hold button is very tight... I would love this feature if you could implement it.

Either way I would like it, with the three second would be great but without would be more usable for me I think.

Just a thought, is the source for this likely to become available?

Well, this is very useful.

Thanks very much for this.

Edit: well it does work, but it also stops 'reboot' and instant off in the xmb working if anyone is using it.

On LightMP3 I think they had it clocked to 40. I think you can lower it a bit.
