Free, is there a simple way to add shoutcasts? Also, do you know if there are any AM stations for shoutcasts or streaming or is it just FM.

Simple way to add Shoutcasts is to edit the MyShoutcast file :/ Just make sure every entry but the last has a comma at the end.

As for AM stations with shoutcast... dunno. You'd be better off checking the site of an AM station and seeing if they have a raw audio stream, which you could add to th MyStreams file.

Also, please note this, too:

That'll be in a future version, except for the fonts; the fonts are controlled completely by the files in flash0:/font. Since the radio plugin can check to see if a file exists on the memory stick, adding a check for a custom background image would be simple enough. But it's 1 AM now, and I work tomorrow...

Very nice update FreePlay. Much cleaner look to it. Thanks yet again for the great work.

Also, thanks to Tenafly for providing the prefab shoutcast list. I only had like 7 stations of mine that I added so adding your list to mine expanded my choices quite a bit.

Hmm... as for bigger fonts, I do know you can use a slightly larger built-in font. When you're in FreeRadio, hit triangle to bring up the main menu, scroll over to the little 'A' icon (the 'View' menu), open the menu, go to Text Size, then pick Large.

Does anyone know of any other streaming website used with FreeRadio like http://www.idobi.com?

Also, how to I add www.purevolume.com playlist to the Playlist?

I'd say you probably can't; they've done a pretty good job of locking their music down so that you have to either buy it or use their player to stream audio.

hi Freeplay, first offe xcellent work on the player, im lovin all aspects of what can be done. I am having one bit of difficulty trying to add a XM radio stream though. http://radioplayer.aol.com/player/la...ggregate:21632 <--- this is a online XM stream(free stream, this isnt a subscriber stream) for their 80's music feed. I cant seem to get it to work. Ive tried editing the line, using only the 21632 # and setting the line accordingly. Is there another way of finding the address to the stream in a useable form with freeradio? Thanks.

Thank you, FreePlay! FreeRadio is excellent. Can FreeRadio play live radio, "http://www.rthk.org.hk/live1.asx" ? This link can be opened direct by Media Player.

afdude: That stream requires a browser plugin, so no, you can't add it. Sorry.

Tenafly: FreeRadio cannot and probably will never play ASX. ASX is for Windows Media, which isn't supported by the Sony radio player plugin since it's almost never streamed over a standard 'http' connection.

On another note, I've just finished up version 1.6:

Quote:
Version 1.6, 1/17/2008
  • fixed the readme... this ain't 2007 anymore
  • Added support for user themes, based on cascading stylesheets. To make a theme, create a file called 'user_theme.css' in the Radio\Personalize folder and edit it with any text editor. It's a standard CSS stylesheet, so if you don't know about CSS, it's time to learn There are a few special pieces of the page which can be themed individually:
    • 'bg': The background image.
    • 'meta': The bar at the top of the screen that displays the current stream info.
    • 'stopbutton': The 'stop playback' button.
To theme these pieces, make sure their name is preceded by a '#' in the user_theme.css file; this is how CSS knows it's a page element that has a specific ID. If you're confused, check out the example user_theme.css file; it's a copy of default the 'bg', 'meta', and 'stopbutton' theme settings.
The only places user themes won't show up are in the browser and a podcast page.
Spoiler for user theme example:

Although I don't know how to take advantage of it, the ability to use custom themes is cool. Hopefully, some will want to share their custom theme's with those of us that have no skills in that department.

i changed the open a new clone tab to open the bookmarks html file.
Becouse if you open a new clone tab the other one will stop playing radio...the open a new clone tab is unstabling the radio.

And you live in Holland right? Becouse you added dutch radio stations. Radio 538 ain't working...and i can send you the IP of 3fm if im out of school. Cant find a working 538 IP...

Very nice Freeplay, I like the ability to add your own BG.
One question.
Is ther a way to drop down the Shoutcast word and icon so it doesn't go under the Stop playback button like this picture shows?

Yeah, that is a problem. You can only load the radio player plugin in one tab. If you tell it NOT to load in the new tab, you can still browse the web in the new tab, but you won't be able to use the radio functions.

Nope, I'm from the USA. Someone else posted a few Dutch stations and I added them

I haven't really played too much recently with writing for the browser but as I recall it doesn't support scrollbars at all.
