[RELEASE] Metroid Life (0.02)

based off of the old Conway's Game of Life,
only with metroids



metroids live and die based on these simple rules:

--Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if by loneliness.

--Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.

--Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives, unchanged, to the next generation.

--Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours comes to life.

the eboot is not custom and shows lua player 20 :P, this should work on all custom firmwares, but was tested using a slim on 3.90 m33.

I always enyojed "The game of life" and deep hidden in my mind I has the idea of making on one on the PSP.

Now, I'll just download and enjoy this one

i think someone had already made one for the psp a while back, i remember seeing a post.
i always wanted to make one, and i guess it was a nice time waster at work

im not sure what you mean about "start off".

im going to make an update to it, animate the metroids and make the grid bigger so you can "pan" the screen around a little in v0.02

and for v0.03 i want to impiment a "wrap-around" effect where the cells that would grow ouside the grid area would grow on the oposite side of the grid.

yea its random

iv been testing it, and i think it does need an "edit" function where it gives you a blank grid, then you make a pattern then press start and the program starts based on what you make. ill add this in v 0.03 as the main feature.

right now v0.02 now added some more features, ill post in a bit, i have to make a custom eboot for it first.

- fixed a bug where the last colum was not calculating correctly
- added animation to metroids
- added space background
- added pause feature(to check out interesting patterns)
- added cycle speed up and cycle speed down with L and R buttons

I just finished coding v0.03 it just needs a little testing but looks good will release it very soon.



Metroid Life v0.03 change log:
----------------------------
pause screen is now an edit screen!

pause game(press start)
a cross hair will appear
press the d-pad to manuver the crosshair
press X to tuggle current metroid on/off
to clear grid press triangle.

press start to resume program in current edited state!

Hmmm I remember one with rabbits and foxes, and food. Maybe you could impliment a predator. I prefered coloured dots though. Good job.
