Why do you want to change your nickname via PRX? Any reason? Is it stolen?

vshctrl.prx isn't even encrypted, just compressed. There is an easier way to do it flashless though, using this plugin.
Enable it in vsh, and make a 'vchanger.txt' in the root of your memory stick with the version you want. It also visually hides your MAC, this has no effect on anything else
It patches directly in sysconf just a few miliseconds after vshctrl, so there should be no problems with that
