Anyone with a slim?

This is a discussion on Anyone with a slim? within the PSP Development Forum forums, part of the PSP Development, Hacks, and Homebrew category; I don't have a slim psp, so I can't test this myself, but I'd like to know whether this works ...

Default Anyone with a slim?

I don't have a slim psp, so I can't test this myself, but I'd like to know whether this works on one of the newer PSPs & firmwares (works fine on my fat).

Anyone willing to be a test dummy? It's not a game so don't get excited, just an engine test.

Download here (2.5mb)

Controls are- Forward: Triangle, Backward: Cross, Strafe Left: Square, Strafe Right: Circle, Pan Camera: Analog Nub, Change Camera Speed: Dpad Up / Down.

Things I want to know: Does it run out of memory? (you'll see) Does the music play? Does it drop below 60 fps? Is the text showing once rendering starts? How many objects did you get total?

Thanks in advance.

Hey,
Im testing it now.
It just started fine, no music is playing though. Framerate is at 60fps and text is showing. Most boxes drawn got up to 400 when i was ruising at camera speed 10

Thanks, I guess the modules for playing a MP3 using the ME are different in the higher up firmwares.

Edit: I fixed it, thanks for those who tested.

You dropped below 60 fps? Did the edges of the boxes flicker?
Did you run it through something like irshell, (or other shells) or have many plugins that would effect speed?

the edges flickered when i was in them and no I don't use irshell. here is my settings
prx-cwcheats 150,pops,game popsloader cxmb.
tried disabled and enabled on all, no change in performance.
xmb clock set to 333
firmware 3.90 m33-3 march 33 edition.

If you want i could possibly try to help you add a dump function to track stats. Would have to see code to see if possible. I am a programmer by trade never did any psp programing though

No, that's ok, was just wondering what it could be that was bogging it down on your unit, as when I remove the vblank wait on mine it sits at ~150fps. Maybe it's using all your ram you have available? How many boxes total is it showing it's creating and dumping into the scene? It should be around 330,000... but with 64mb of ram, it'd be alot more, heh.
