Default [Release] Stakker PSP

IMPORTANT: Read Update Notes (2)!

Code:
Author      MK2k / www.mk2k.net
Name        Stakker PSP
Version     Final Update 2
Platform    PSP (Custom Firmware)
Dev-Details Developed in C++ using the JGE++ Engine by Dr. Watson, Chipmunk Game Physics by Slembcke,
            some functions from PGE courtesy of InsertWittyName
Soundtrack Thanks to DJ Runningman of Firewall Records, Stakker PSP comes with DJ Runningman's
            Warped Sense of Humour Track.
Description

As a consequence to my previously released port of the Chipmunk Physics Engine to the PSP here is my new release: Stakker PSP.
Stakker PSP is a fun game of building up and destroying towers made out of falling blocks. Build up your tower on the platform and don't let any piece fall off. If you reach high enough, destroy it with a projectile coming from the left and get points for each piece falling off the platform and bouncing against the screen borders.
Stakker PSP is officially entered to the PSP-Hacks Homebrew Idol 2008 Competition.

Update Notes
Everyone who downloaded the previous version should download the updated (link below)!

1. Swap Controls implemented (you can choose between D-Pad and Analogue handling)
2. Reward system made easier (you get points in the following manner: +1 +2 +3 +4 +5 +5 +5...)
3. Pressing Down lets the blocks fall 3x faster
IMPORTANT: Letting a block fall faster directly on the platform could result in the situation that the block goes "through" the platform
and you get -10 points, that's because of the simulation being fast forwarded by the factor 3!
4. New feature: put a JPEG image called theme.jpg in Stakker's directory and the image gets loaded as your new background (standard
size is 480x272)

Features

* Heavily physics-based Gameplay
* Online Score System
o View and upload your best attempts to mess with the best in the world!
o You can also point your web browser to http://stakkerpsp.mk2k.net/scores/
* GameShare
o Send this game over to your friend's PSP and have a nice fight for the first place in the online list
* MP3 Playback
o Automatically loads your music files in mp3 format from ms0:/MUSIC
o Plays back 44kHz mp3s in all bitrates you could think of
o Skip tracks, stop and start the player right in the game

Screenshots

Screen 1: Intro Screen

Screen 2: In-Game (Tower already reached it's height and gets destroyed by the projectile now)

Screen 3: Each box bouncing at walls give you points

Update 2 via mk2k.net: http://www.mk2k.net/releases/psp/gam...date2-mk2k.zip
Update 2 SE (special version which doesn't utilize the analog stick): http://www.mk2k.net/releases/psp/gam...e2_se-mk2k.zip

Notes

Read the readme.txt for installation notes and read the ingame instructions for button configuration.

very nice, but i can not get as high as you can build them, if feels like the platform is too small, i surggust expanding it, and maybe as the levels climb it begins to shorten

This is awesome, because I'm so awesome at it. I scored -145. What do I win? I don't think this game works very well with 3.03 OE-C. Every time I do anything except play the game, such as click on instructions to find out what the music controls are, the screen just turns blue and the PSP shuts down. I wouldn't expect you to even attempt to make the game compatible with such an outdated firmware as mine, but I'm just letting you know.

Freshmilk: the Game uses Sony internal dialogs, could be that they are not compatible to such outdated firmwares. Try running it at 3.03 kernel and not 1.50 kernel for a start (if you dont even do so).

mraellis: yeah it's called Pocket Physics, I do know that one and I think in that "game" there was no actual goal or score to achieve which i thought kinda spoils the fun or competition. I wanted to create a physics-based game and not a sandbox (there are thousands of draw-and-let-simulate sandbox games out there). However, on PC is a game where you actually draw things in and have to achieve a goal, but that was a bit too much for me to make in that small amount of time (for the psp-hacks competition that is).

Lol sorry about putting rocket i was half asleep

No there wasn't any goal or scores which was a shame i thought. I like the idea of making it a game but I've still to see how it can be as good on the psp without a touch screen

I will get around to trying it sometime

Mr305: yo sleep isn't working, it's JGE++ engine based and sleepmode never worked on that (and i had more important things to do, sorry hehe).

Off-Topic: Mr305, i'd still like to have a working suspend or even poweroff lib for a future Sleep'n'Wake release, any chance for that?

You mean the alarm functions?

Code:
sceSysconWriteBatAlarm(sceSysconReadClock() + SecondsConvertedtoTicks, use sceRTClib to add ticks in either seconds or minutes) = Voila Alarm Set.
Then, Use Regular sleep or turn off with scePower functions.
See the PSP magically wake up
Oh, and sceRtcAlarm* inturn calls this function to set alarm, so this is the master.

silverspring.lan.st Libdocs, Grab the nids from 1.5 Kernel Since 3.80M33 and above firmwares have NIDResolver.

Well, that's how to get that to work.
