Post [RELEASE] - AutoBoot Fixer v1.0

Hi to all, first of all sorry for my bad English (i'm Italian) and then here is my new plugin
People requested it to me so I hope to have made them happy xD

Download from HERE (thanks to www.psp-ita.com for hosting space!)
Mirror from my Official Website: http://redsquirrel.pspgen.com/AutoBo...Fixer_v1.0.rar (thanks to PSPGen for that!)

From the README.txt attached:
Quote:
AutoBoot Fixer by Red Squirrel
http://redsquirrel.pspgen.com <-English
http://redsquirrel.forumitalian.com <- Italian
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

What's it?
As you maybe know, the "Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP" function of all CFs Recovery Menù does NOT work in last CFs (from CF 3.51M33 I think).
This is a simple plugin for all PSP (Slim and Phat) that fixs this function bug!
If you enable plugin, you will can use the "Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP" function without issues, like in past D.A. CFs.

Why a similar release?
Because this seem be the "golden age" of alternative shell for Sony PSP, so there are many people that would use the "autoboot" function to launch their favorite shell.

Features
v1.0
-Fixed "Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP" function.
If you enable "Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP" function in Recovery Menù (and this plugin is enabled too!) it works with no issue!
So EBOOT.PBP located in /PSP/GAME/BOOT/ will be launched on console boot.

How to Install
Like all plugins... copy PRX file in ms0:/SEPLUGINS, open (or create if t does not exist!) VSH.txt file and add this line at first position: ms0:/SEPLUGINS/AutoBootFixer.prx
Then from Recovery Menù go to Plugins page and enable it.

Thanks
To God.

I hope this will be usefull to someone
P.s.: Sorry for the time, good night to all

Omg!!! Thanks!!!

I've been waiting for this for a long time! Now that it's summer, I figured I would make it myself, but thanks a lot!!

EDIT:
I couldn't get this to work! Anyone else have this problem? I installed it correctly and enabled it, but the program doesn't run.

OMG sorry ^^''
I made it at 2.00 a.m. I did not think that it should not be loaded every time XMB is launched but only in boot
I fix it now

EDIT: mmm, seems does not exist any way to fix it at the moment :|
I continue to search for a way, but until I will find a function to recognize first boot from others, the bug still lives...
I'm so sorry

cant you just make it unload itself after it has loaded the new program that way it will only do it when it boots, as otherwise it wont have been loaded ?

The plugin, like my AutoStart prx loads when the vsh starts up. When you exit a homebrew the vsh restarts. So what you are saying FaT3oYCG wouldn't work at all.

If I unload plugin after boot then, when PSP return to XMB, system reload all plugins and so also this autoboot plugin will be re-loaded and I am at the same point

Unfortunatly in PSPSdk seems does not exist a function to recognize first boot from others (exit game/homebrew/isos ecc...)
Nobody has a suggestion?

Uhh you should have it so it checks to see if it's been enabled already in recovery. But else, you could make it detect if there is an eboot.pbp in the folder /PSP/GAME/BOOT/. If there isn't, boot to the xmb. If there is, boot to the eboot. That way it doesn't try to load a non-existent file and infinitely loop.
-= Double Post =-
EDIT: actually I think this is impossible unless you get down to the boot before the vsh is loaded. Meaning who ever makes the cfw in this instance dax would have to hardcode it in. Which is why this has yet to have been fix properly. Because there is nothing you can do to tell it the difference between a cold boot and a restart/reboot UNLESS something is coded into the cold boot process (IE: something like the recovery)
Spoiler for proof:
You can't access the recovery if you restart your psp. You can only get to it upon a cold boot. Go ahead try it.

The closest you could come is if you made and IPL to do this since it is loaded once before the vsh is. But that could get too complicated and it interferes with other ipls such as time machine.

Please disprove me I would like to see this project excel.

why not just make the pmf player exit to vsh once it plays the video instead of the prx

As a temp solution why not only have the prx load/activate only when the L trigger is held down. Personaly even though this suggestion is primarily a bugfix, it would give better flexability than without it.

A simple EBOOT launcher isn't going to evolve into reversing the M33 IPL and adding new code to it...
Also, it wouldn't interfer with TimeMachine, on the NAND there is a custom M33 IPL block applying patches, followed by the Sony IPL.
It'd require one to reverse the full M33 block (which is quite hard) and recompile it with new code to allow such thing.
And yes, recovery is launched by the IPL

How does the recovery system work anyway? Does it load the file every boot or only on R trigger?
Sorry, I know next to nothing on m33 modules.

Sorry, I know next to nothing on m33 modules.
On boot the custom IPL checks for the R-trigger, and incase it's needed it'll place a little patch to load the recovery (and dependacies) instead of the default Sony modules.

i tried many combinations and only stucks with empty screen.
