![]() Hi I've updated Coverflow, cus I didnt like the 2.5 version. I created a intro, loading screen, rearreanged the covers layeout to match more like the real coverflow of iphone (7 covers on screen instead of 3),added new play, puse, stop buttons, also added volume and screen buttons for novelty.Added new icon and background pic in the EBOOT It looks more realistic,it feels FLOW,CoverFlow. As before,it saves the cover art images loaded from ID3 Tags to the covers folder for faster loading. So it needs a very long time (2s for one mp3) to load at the first time, but then it is very fast (1/2 s for one mp3) . I have also removed known bugs.Only tested on PSP SLIM. Here is the download link:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YE695OAD TIP:instead of having entire mp3 albums, just put your favorite tracks per album,it works better (why put entire album when you will be listening to only 1 to 4 song per artist/album).Use CoverFlow 3.0 for your favorite songs only, and put the mp3's in the MUSIC folder (mso/MUSIC/XXXX.mp3,XXXX.mp3,XXXX.mp 3) XXXX=the name of the mp3.Do not use subfolders, put all your mp3's in the MUSIC folder,or you will get errors.REMEMBER,DON'T USE SUBFOLDERS. Credits to ''Sony Psp Player'',the creator of the original Coverflow 2.5 for PSP Have fun... Last edited by ALIENWARE; 06-06-2008 at 09:18 PM.. |

I followed the instructions and put my MP3's inside of ms0:/MUSIC and made sure not to have any sub-folders, but when I go to run this I get an error:
"Error : id3lib.lua 88: attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil vap Press start to restart" I'm using 3.90 M33-3, any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

Okay thanks for replying. I'm going to try and fix them and see what happens.
Edit: I did what you said and the app works now. Thanks for the help. I have another question though. Even though after I edited the MP3 in Windows Media Player 11 so that it would have the album cover, the songs still show up with no picture after I copied them over to my PSP. if it was an ID3 tag problem it would happen to everything that reads the ID3 tags, and not jsut your program, you need to make it compatible. you cant jsut say "go and update all of the ID3 tags on your songs". thats ridiculous and noone will sue your program.

I hope you gave credit to the original developer and you asked him for permission to release this. If not then this is the exact reason people encrypt any LUA program that is remotely interesting.

I kinda have to agree with what the person above said.
Well here are some suggestions for the next build:
Keep in mind these are only suggestions.

![]() All of that suggestions will come,I'm working on that. The volume bar is only for show, for now,it was just to give the look of Apple's Coverflow. Please remind that this was only a update from the 2.5 version, and ,for me ,it looks better.I forget to give credits to the creator of the program,SONY PSP PLAYER,(thats his alias)but I dont have to ask him permission to mod, change, update his program cus this is a homebrew, not an registered copirigted program (does he ask permission to Apple to create Coverflow to PSP????).Any homebrew that is post in the internet for sharing, are free to anyone to modeit as you like...I modofied the program to my specs, for me was better, and deside to share with all you psp gamers and homebrew fans. Stay tuned for improvement, and share your ideas so I keep working on this, unless the original creator give a very good update before me,I will share my mod to you... -= Double Post =- Quote:
And eaven itunes have problems with albums idtagged with 3rd party programs,a program for reading ID3 tags is not compatible with all the ID3 tagging programs, cus they are difrent in the form they taggs the songs... -= Double Post =- If you get an error message saying: Error: id3lib.lua:88: attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil vap Press start to restart Then that means that one or various of your MP3's may have a bad ID3 tag. Solution: re-tag the MP3(s) using WMP 11 or iTunes. Now if you get an error message saying: Error Script.lua:223: attempt to index field /?/ ( anil value)@ Press start to restart Then that means you have a sub-folder inside of your MUSIC folder. Solution: to fix this you must put all of your MP3's inside of ms0:/MUSIC. Don't include any folders inside of the MUSIC folder. wow this is the second time someone has ripped off a copy of sony_psp_players app, the first time whoever took it compiled it so no one could see the changes when the origional was not, and then this time you do not even mention his name.
he asked me if he should compile it or not and i told him not to so that people could see the code and use it in their own apps, but not to just take his use all of his complicated code and then add things that someone with any logical ability could add. if he asked me again i would tell him to compile the next program he amkes, because there isnt much point now seen as previous versions werent compiled, i havent helped him what so ever with this project, but now i think i will have a good talk with him. if he agrees we will improve it together as we work well in a team, and then you will not need to improve upon it, and then when we have coded it and it is all nice to read we wont compile it so other people can read it. basically i think people are just taking the p|ss now with copying his work, the creator of the other copy actually said all he did was recode it which says to me that he would be unable to code it himself in the first place. basically i am very annoyed, i hope other people share the same views with me, as i am a very good friend of sony_psp_player. --------- F@T3oYCG

Blah Blah Blah how freaking LAME. He is in no way profiting from the changes, and decided to share it with everyone else.... what the hell is the problem? I knew he didn't make it from scratch just by reading the post... Considering you hacked your PSP, you're in absolutely no position to be talking about intellectual property rights.... Same thing goes for that fool talking about copyright law. |

The problem is that he did not ask permission from the original creator, and did not initially credit the original program (He only added that after we complained).
I, for one, would hate it if someone took one of my programs, modded it without my permission, and released it without crediting me. Especially if, like this one, the release looks like a new version. P.S. FYI, "Modding" the PSP is not illegal, neither is running homebrew. My point was that copyright law still applies to homebrew, and that without explicit permission from the author or permission indicated in a release license like the GPL, it is illegal to re-release someone else's code. |
