Seriously, one of the greatest piece of homebrew ever. The sound fits very well and the game has no bugs (that I have found).
The only thing that's lacking is a good puzzle selector, instead of the simple one. I'm talking about a more graphical thing.

Thanks for the suggestion, that's a really good idea.
I will try something like that. (Might take 3 weeks since I'm off to Turkey)

yo Maurice10 very nice homebrew game, I like it. Speaking of puzzles I'm looking for the best Sudoku homebrew game, any suggestions?

Thanks again for sharing...

Puzzle selecting:
Don't show extensions.
Only show .mhp files.
Save self made puzzles in map called CUSTOM.

Okay here's the concept for the puzzle chose menu.
I didn't code any of it yet and this picture was made in Paint.
R and L will be used to toggle between folders, up, down, left and right to move between the puzzles and X to accept.

The puzzleimage will be displaced if you have solved the puzzle.
The number on the top right corner shows the size.

I hope I can actually do this.

a way to show we solved the puzzle is awesome (unless it shows it now and I didn't see it), anyhow the concept for the new menu looks good.

It creates a *.mph.high when you solve a puzzle, so that way you know that you solved it.

But I don't like it like that.

It looks good...
DS clone
I dont know if I like the idea of seeing the picture once Ive finished the puzzle... cause that means no replay value, you already see the anwser before you begin. Maybe a little yellow star on there, or instead of black green once finished.

Default star

First, very good game, i loved it !!!!!!!!

A suggestion for puzzles :

If you can, when you solved a puzzle, show a star or something at the end of the filename.
And the highscore saved IN the puzzlefile. it you select the level, it will show you the highscore

And so many thanks !!

As always, don't be offended if i use bad words , i'm french

So...it's Picross DS with all of the graphics and puzzles ripped off and put on the PSP? I'll stick with Picross DS, thank you. I already own a copy.

(Yes, I realize that not everyone owns a DS. However, it's not hard to make custom puzzles and graphics.)

I made this for personal reasons only.
I like the look of PicrossDS and thought "I'll take that look to my PSP", since I'm going on vacation for 2½ weeks.
When it looked really good I started to consider a release, so that's why I didn't create graphics myself.

Of course, your critic is valid. But if you have the DS version, I understand that you stick with it; I would too. It's better and I'm fine with that, but this one is free, and mainly for those who don't own a DS/PicrossDS.

I would also like to make clear that only 45 puzzles are ripped from PicrossDS. The other 165 are from other games and sites. And I believe it is hard to make custom puzzles, because they have to be solvable.

Thanks for the critic.

The Format is:
Code:
size=XX Has to be 5, 10 or 15!
board={{2,2,1,2,1},{2,2,1,2,1},{2,2,1,2,1},{2,2,1,2,1},{2,2,1,2,1},...} Amount and content of {..} has to match the size!
name="NAME"
Where 2 (filled) can be any even number and 1 (not-filled) can be any uneven number.

You might want to make a converter of some sort if you find a big number of levels.

This game is very good. It's one of the only lua games that have stayed on my PSP. The game is in need of a proper selector, and it's a bit annoying having to restart to go to the editor.

OK thanks.

BTW, making puzzles isn't that hard. I made one by just:

1) drawing a random picture in the editor
2) trying it to see if it's solvable
3) realising it's not
4) going back to the editor and changing the puzzle to make it easier
5) trying the puzzle again
6) solving it.

One thing that would be nice (but kinda hard) would to include a solver into the editor that can validate that your puzzle is solvable.

(for the attachment, you have to rename it to .mhp instead of .html because I can't upload mhp's)

Great job!

I did notice a few issues, though.

- The "Time Over" music loops even though it seems like it should only play once
- The game timer doesn't stop when the PSP is put into sleep mode
- The "Mario's Picross 1 - Medium 2, Puzzle 8-B" file is invalid (see attachment for a fixed version)
