Default OpenChoice "make your shell"

This project is an open source shell for the PSP that is at the moment is getting developed.
People like to customized things and for most users, they simply don't know how to do so, this project is aimed to change all that, it will allow a beginner to customize his or her PSP for the stuff they use on it

The concept of how the shell works is modular, it is simply made up of a collection of small homebrew apps passing a message to the shell and vice verser.

GLUE V1.0 "BUILD 0C000" is completed.
SHELL is very much in development stage, close to an Alpha release.

SHELL will be very customizable by any end user with no programming skills required.

One will be able to make fancy Menus and Sub-Menus for all his or her homebrew, ISOs "persinal backups", Emulators etc...

They will be a offical webpage for this Project that will include the source code for anyone that is into PSP Development.

Following this project will be OpenChoice Packs to show how one can customize the shell.

Credits so Far
xart : project leader and sole developer for now plus designer of OpenChoice default look.
alfatreae : logo designer & naming of project.

If enough modules are written, I could even see myself using this over the XMB.

As this is open I will need help from graphic artists to supply new looks for others to downoad as well as other developers adding onto it as it is modular based.

So you are very much welcome to join in, but would recomend to wait for the first release so you and others to see how it all works first.

I will be designing and developing OpenChoice myself first untill v1.0 were I release all to othhers as on designer and developer is not enough for this project as it has legs to grow way beyond me.

Alpha version will be posted as soon as i have it more less in a working state, this Alpha version will give you a clue how it is going to work.

Testing an early Alpha version myself and all is going smoothly so hope to have somethink to show soon, when that dose happen I will be in Beta developing stage.

OpenChoice is controlled by mouse driven events, and the mouse is threaded.
also will work as fully digital only if you like to turn the mouse off and what will happen is Analog becomes a second digital controller.

The plans for icons is animated focus, hover and normal state icons as well as static (non-animated)

Customizable including mixed size icons and animated wallpaper.
And one more thing, they can be positions at any location on screen with sound effects for every icon, even mix sounds for diferant icons

This is all about making it as customizable as possible to make eye catching designs, making each desktop frame look like a flashy interactive manu with sub menus.

And best of all, zero coding for customizing it to your fancy.
simply provide images, sounds and were the icon should be placed on screen.

This sounds great, but somehow I doubt this project will work out how it's intended to be. Sorry for being honest.

It sure does sound great, But i think this program will work and be awesome. Sure thats your opinion and im not criticizing you or nothing. But this program is a high grade of coding. it will be hard at first but im sure xart will pull it off after perhaps a few updates

Ok I hoping to have somethink to show real soon in a day or so.

Animation stuff all sorted ready to activate, Mouse event all work 100%
Just a little bug takem time to track down so that has led to the hold up but that bug is just a file browsing issue were on folder not showing the way intended so little logic issue in code to ion out.

Apart from that I can navigate threw all folders on MS and gointo folders via mouse controll, then I should be able to move onto adding drag & drop for file managing capabilitys, this project feels like a desktop hybrid, and anone remember Choice eXtreme well this is Choice eXtreme 2 all the code and ways of working comes from Choice eXtreme and be using some of Choice ways of working for the homebrew organizer app for OpenChoice project

Mouse is new code and very simple thread so not like Choice eXtreme, far smoother just like on a Mac, PC or Linux

Also uses Mac OS X actual mouse cursor, just a png file so easly changed just like I promised, fully customizable

I will release it in a day or two, realy stating to come along now looks realy cool too me and a bit more work such as adding drag & drop I will post a alpha version of it so every one can have a look at how it is going.

got animation in place ready to be included but holding off untill the foundation is working 100% then it will be a simple matter of switching on the animation support in the code and it should spring to life.

Skin changer will not be needed the way this shell will work.
I could make a devloper edition, were it simply takes screen shots and selects a resource folder were the default images are to test diferant designs and enable USB for access MS while you edit them say in photoshop.

Alpha version ready and working but going to add a bit more then release a newer Alpha version from the one I have at the moment.
