    Standard Uncharted Lands v0.02 [Release]

    Alright here it is Uncharted Lands v0.02. The game is sooo much more playable, and has much more in it. The new features are listed below. Alos expect a larger time inbetween this release in the next, as the next release is going to Be amazing!!! It will incorporate many new things, if you want a preview of whats to come then check out the READ ME in the Documents folder. So check it out, and leave feed-back here!!!(also I'm unsure about the new character image, please give me your thoughts on that)

    Features:
    5 outside Maps and 4 indoor maps maps
    fixed pause menu
    main menu - - (fully functional)
    items shop interface
    weapons shop interface
    npc characters -- (moving characters, functions have been made, and will be fully implemented next release)
    begining night time function (it's function is made and is in the file, just hasn't been ativated in the game because it lags too much)
    early sign reading/talking function
    state system created, and functional

    right now, I hand make them using some assorted tiles, going to be converted to tile map though before the next release.

    I need some feed guys, and I seriously want to get suggestions from you guys between thie release and the next, as the next is going to be HUGE, and sooo much more playable, and enjoyable(Plus the stury will begin to be implimented). To see things already planned for next release look at the READ-Me in the documents folder, but please give suggestions!! :)

    OK, how about this:
    1. Make sure you have levels.
    2. Add many monsters and demons
    3. Add more effects to the game.
    4. How will the save states in this game work?
    5. There should be a new chapter released according to the structure of my storyline.
    I will thing of more features later.

    ummm, lets see:

    1. I am going to add aton more maps, I'm hoping like atleast 10 more, but don't hold me to that ;)

    2. I am adding battlesystem next release, so there will be fighting!!!
    3.what kind of effects??
    4.you will go to the pause menu and save or load.
    5.I may subdivide the game into chapters.. but IDK, thats a good Idea though, that way all the futher releases, can be a new chapter to the story, mabey even resume from the last release... that is a really good Idea.

    so yeah thanks for the suggestions, but I want all I can get so keep them coming guys.

    cool upgrade but change the color of player hair because it bleand with the grass

    add like a arcade shop were player can spend the money(add that as well) and play mini games like pinball or tennise...ect
    add adhoc for futer 2 or more player quest

    ok, I will add night time effect instead of weather, I will add magic, when I do battle system, I will change the hair color, definitly, and IDK about ADHOC or the arcade, I may look itno it though, thanx for the suggestions.

    In the Inn there's a bug:

    Enter the Inn
    Walk into the side of the staircase(?) at the left (between X = 184 - 202) or right (between X = 242 - 264).
    Move left or right (depending on which side you chose to walk into first) and try to move to the next screen (Up). ~ The bug is you cant, you have to press down then up to move through to the next screen.

    you want to help code it????? I'd need to see that you could handle the project, not saying you can't just saying I've never seen any of your stuff. Look at the code if you want to know more about it... and besides, I kinda want this project to be a solo project when it comes to coding, no offense, but if you have any other talents such as basic graphics design, I could really use you, as making these maps are time consuming. . . If you did that, though you would have to keep to the current maps style, which I coulg provide the tiles for, but in the end you would have to divide the entire map into 32 by 32 tiles... so no probly not right now, but if you want to be a beta tester, then sure go ahead, and the reason you can't go to the side of the staircase then go up it is that there is collision on the stair case...

    sure you can be a beta tester, I'll add you to the mailing list :) as the story goes, talk to M33_user, and mraellis, they are my storywriters right now, so if they want your help then go ahead, but make sure it's alright with them first, they wrote a 1st chapter already, IDK if they have started on the second??? but yeah I'll probly make you my last Beta tester, I really don't need any more :) lol oo and inbetween this release and the next is a good time to be a Beta tester :) you guys are going to get some sneak peeks at some of the biggest things that I am going to be implementing into this game :) . OO and as multiplayer goes, I deciding on whether or not to have 4 characters that will be in your player's party??? kinda like FF but I don't know how hard that will be, If I do that it probly won't be till 4th release.. but who knows, lol. Also I'm going to open up the forest area on the next release and I might take out the cemetry... Oo yeah last thing, THE PUB . . . any ideas for it (besides getting drunk) If I can't come up with any thing, then I'm taking it out all together.

    Thanx.

    The pub could be used as a place for date specific events - by this I mean, e.g every saturday there is a npc who holds a hunting/fishing competition which is optional and not part of the main story. Also there could be npc's in there who can offer special deals on certain days, dodgy dealings, assasinations etc.

    I think a good thing to implement would be a good/evil scale - something like out of the xbox game fable.

    lol, I thought about the good/evil scale nefore, but I would have to make 2 or more different game files, which isn't bad, not even that hard, just time consuming. But I may do that, and I really like the idea for the pub, that is a really good Idea, I will combine that with thecobra's arcade idea. So thank you for that... I know just how to do that too... hopefully this won't lag like the night time function does though...

    Quests for the pub.

    Ok its probably messy and rough and spelt terrible but here are my notes on it.

    1. Diagonal sprites is fuc.... Hmm messed up
    2. The path to next area problem
    3. The signpost you shouldn’t have to hold down x on
    4. The two chests in the second map are empty
    5. None of the start menu things work except quit and resume.
    6. Credits are missing
    7. Circle thing on later release?
    8. Walking over gravestones...
    9. Grassy thing later release?
    10. Can’t go behind tree... layer issue
    11. Can walk through town signs, not under them
    12. Girl in building don’t speak!
    13. In inn ^
    14. No items in item shop
    15. And dots over right hand side of screen instead of black
    16. Can always walk through bottom of screen
    17. Going right in town goes to same right as screen below :S
    18. No items in weapon shop
    19. Can’t enter pub
    20. Make the boot have a background and a name that’s not luaplayer 0.20 lol
    21. Quit should return to xmb not turn psp off
    22. Maybe add a logo screen before main menu

    Also i Pmed you a revised story. I will send it M33_User to.

    I want the sword bit i said WTF to explained please. ;)

    P.s Eleo send me a example or your writing man. (short story 500 words?) ;)

    Make it about a warrior in a fight for extra points. ;)

    lol, yeah this is a good time to be a beta tester as all of the beta testers are going to be able to test out all of the new features before I release!! :) mabey once weekly if I can.

    Now Mraellis. . .
    1.havent made/ don't have diagonal sprites
    2.I'm making paths probly today in the maps

    there's some programs in the files section that you can use for that..

    8 - Hmm maybe a forest over there for the first training up thing.

    15 - Hmm in the inn you know how both sides of the screen except the inn itself are meant to be black. Well it's like someone when over it quickly with the lighten brush in photoshop so it has like flickers of lighter bits. :S Explained better?

    ok, cool man, glad you could do that, and thanx Blah, I'll dl, it and see what I can come up with. Umm, yeah I just need background info on the characters, and add the stufff that I tweaked please, but I don't want anything revealed about the game, so that mean, I need a name for the mysterious man, and I need other background info on him. Thanxx alot you guys, I'll keep you posted on my progress.

    Alright these are all of the things to expect by the next release(Beta testers will see most of this stuff sooner)

    things to add/change:
    1.add tilemaps
    2.add Battlesystem
    3.add Forest Area and other maps - (at least 10 more maps)
    4.More NPC including animated NPC
    5.Saving and Loading
    6.Chapter Segments
    7.Open Pub, and have "Mini Games" for certain quests that are non important.
    8.Good/Bad Scale or life decision/choice.
    9.New EBOOT
    10.Change Cemetry to somethng else (I don't know what yet...)
    11.Change character Sprites

    Tell me if you guys think of any thing else, also Mraellis, and M33_User for the good/bad scale, I need to P.M. you guys on some details :) going to make the story alittle more interesting . . . . .

    I'm looking at how I want to time this and it looks like the good/bad thing is going to be like a life choice, and won't be implemented till chapter 2. also I may need coding advise on something... since I am releasing by chapter from now on, how would I release a new release, without making the player start at the beginning, but also make that if they decide to replay the game once they beat it and i release all of the chapters, that they can play all the way through????

    maybe you can have a save and load function witch tell you everything you need like where he was and all it item.

    when you release chapter 2 you can make it like a add on where one of your chapter 1 map will show like a BIG DOOr where it say "you may not enter:still in work process" and when chapter 2 is made the map will check if t exist and if it does it will let the player pass to it

    that just something i came up on top of my mind :)
